The Return of the GPS District Digest

Welcome back GPS! We were ready when our students walked through the doors on September 1 at Greenwich Public Schools all over town. Day 1 was a rousing success, albeit a little wet from the coming storm. Day 2 did not work out that well though, as we made the decision to close our doors because Ida brought an historic amount of rain to us. But we all got right back at it on Friday and the 2021-2022 school year was off and running!

Today, we kick off the third year of the GPS District Digest newsletter and we invite you all to submit your notes, story items, ideas, photos, and social media posts for future issues.

Have a great year!

Happy to See You Again

Did you get a chance to see our fun video welcoming back the staff from all of the good folks at the Central Office's Havemeyer Building? It includes a wonderful message from our Board of Education Chair, Peter Bernstein. If you watch it once, you'll want to watch it over and over...it's a snappy number.

College Board National Recognition Programs

The College Board announced that 19 Greenwich High School students were designated as College Board National Recognition Program Scholars, based on academic achievements and outstanding performance on the PSAT and/or AP exams.

Earlier today, we sent a press release to our local media identifying the students named College Board National African American, Indigenous, and Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars. Congratulations to all!

Together We Can

The Office of Special Education and Student Supports debuted its newsletter last week called Together We Can. It is a great way to stay connected with our newly renamed department. The newest issue introduces - and reintroduces - some of our staff members and has details on the PCG report and professional development of our staff.
