In an effort to provide our families with resources to help keep our students academically engaged, I have compiled some of my favorite go-to sites that are interactive and that provide some practice in the areas of reading and language arts.
Please keep the link to this newsletter handy as this will be a working document that I may continuously update with additional resources.

SORA
How to Access Sora
Accessing Sora on a personal computer:
All students have access to Sora via their NISD student portal on the tile titled "Sora".
To access Northside's Sora without logging in to a students NISD portal on a personal computer click on the following link below. Students will need to log-on by selecting the option of "I have a setup code" found at the bottom of the launching page. Students will have to enter the setup code (see below). Once setup code is entered students will be asked to sign in using their student username. Student usernames are the student I.D. #'s. See below for sample.

Using Sora via an App:
Search and download the Sora App to your mobile device. After downloading the Sora app to your mobile device, students will need to log-on by selecting the option of "I have a setup code" found at the bottom of the launching page. Storyline Online Storyline Online is a children's literacy website created by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, which provides free storytelling videos and resources for parents and teachers to foster a love of reading in children. | Scholastic Learn At HomeScholastic Learn at Home is offering this free resource for 20 days of exciting articles and stories, videos, and fun learning challenges. Children can complete them anytime, in any order. They can work on their own or together as a family. It will provide your child with up to 3 hrs worth of exciting learning experiences per day. | Squiggle Park A site that allows learners to practice letter names and continuant sounds as well as vowels. |
