EBE Home Connections
June 7 , 2021 (Two Week Final Edition)
Message from Mr. Hanzeli
Dear Elger Bay Families,
Unless there is an emergent message that needs communication in the coming days, this will be the final edition for this school year of the EBE Home Connections Newsletter. THANK YOU so much for all you have done to support your children and our schools as we have navigated this immensely complicated year. We know we are part of a very special school community, and I can safely say that we could not have done it without the tremendous partnership we had with each of you.
Please continue to watch your EMail for messages from the school district. Sometime around mid August, give or take, you will begin to hear from me again :-) If it is especially urgent, I will add a phone message to point you toward the information.
In the meanwhile, it is my great hope that you will hold family and friends close and take many calm, peaceful moments together enjoying each other. Rested and together, we will see what August brings us and prepare with the fantastic staff at Elger Bay to have a great school year!
With deep appreciation,
Victor
Chromebooks and Chargers, HotSpots, School Textbooks, Library Books Need Return
As we slowly approach these last few day of the school year I am wondering if you can do our school a favor? We know it has been hectic with many items going back and forth between home and school, particularly the student chromebooks, chargers, and school textbooks.
Return date for these items will be Friday, June 11 for the BB Hybrid group and Monday, June 14, for the AA Hybrid group.
If you could please take a bit of extra time between now and then to look around for any of these that may be currently located at your home. Thank you for taking a few minutes to do this. Hopefully this will help make it an easier process come the two June return dates.
Elger Bay Office Hours in June
Just letting you know we will be open on weekdays until June 22, 8:30-3:30. If you find any of the items above, please feel free to come to our pass through window and drop them off. Also, if you know anyone new to our area with elementary students, please have them come by and register.

Good Morning, Families and Staff,
Student Scholarships
The Stanwood Camano Area Foundation, in partnership with Stanwood High School and the American Legion Post 92, traditionally hosts an annual Scholarship Night Event to present Stanwood-Camano Community Scholarships for local seniors. This year, an online presentation was aired on June 1, available for viewing at https://shs.stanwood.wednet.edu/event_streaming.
Ninety-one graduating seniors received 215 scholarships from 96 donors, valued at $183,300. Fifteen of those scholarships were renewable for an additional one to three years, bringing the total value of the awards up to a record breaking $245,900.
All scholarships presented on Scholarship Night are sponsored by local individuals, families, businesses, and community organizations. Many are from endowments that were set up years ago by local families to create a perpetual annual scholarship in memory of a lost loved one. Any senior living within the Stanwood-Camano School District is eligible to apply, even if homeschooled or attending a private school.
Remote Learning 2021-22
The district will have limited remote options for students available next year through our Alternative Learning Programs. Students in grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade may opt to participate in a full parent partnership program at Saratoga School. Students in grades 3-8 may participate in Saratoga’s parent partnership program or their online program. Parents can learn more about Saratoga by going to their website: Saratoga School. High School students may participate in Lincoln Hill High School’s Online/Remote Learning program. More information and a virtual tour of Lincoln Hill can be found here. If your family would like to inquire about one of these programs, please inquire with the school by June 15th.
