Thornhill Elementary PFC Newsletter

Volume 26, Issue 22, January 29, 2019

From the PFC President

Did you see that? January has (pretty much) passed by and February is knocking on our doors.

As many of you know, Oakland teachers have been considering a strike, which naturally is a matter of concern for all of us. In order to answer some of your questions, Ms. Formoso will moderate two meetings at St. John's Episcopal Church tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 29)—the first from 3:15-4pm and the second from 5:30-6:15pm. Regardless of one's feelings about the possibility of a strike, I expect everyone attending these meetings will show respect for our teachers and your fellow Thornhill parents, and support each other in any outcome.

Looking ahead...The PFC Board Meeting for next month is being moved by one day to Tuesday, February 12, from 6-7 pm (RSVP here). All Thornhill parents are welcome and I hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Mahalo,

Rex Crum
