Tornado Forecast of Upcoming Events
January 29th: Late start for students.
- School begins for students at 8:30 am.
- Student transportation will operate under normal timelines.
- Students who arrive before 8:20, will be required to stay in the cafeteria, the main lobby, or the library to work on class assignments quietly.
February 2nd: MORP Dance 2024: A Floral Formal

MORP Dance 2024: A Floral Formal
We are excited again to have our annual MORP dance on Friday, February 2 from 7:30-10:00 in the high school cafeteria. The theme is A Floral Formal. The dance is semi-formal for dress.
- Ticket Sales: Parents and guardians must purchase tickets online using School Pay and then students need to pick tickets up at lunch. Online ticket sales start today on ParentVue and will be open through Wednesday, January 31st.
- Ticket Cost: $10 per student in grades 9-11 and $5 for seniors (Senior discount!). Guest tickets will be sold at lunch for $10 cash after guest form is completed.
- Guests: ONLY Juniors and seniors are allowed one guest who is attending another high school. 9th and 10th graders are not allowed to bring outside guests. Guest forms are located outside of the main office and must be approved AND signed by your AP before guest tickets are purchased.
- Ticket Pick up: Students must pick up their tickets at lunches between Monday January 29th-Thursday February 1st.
- Entry to Event: Students must have a physical ticket and school ID to enter the dance. Every student MUST have a ticket to get into the dance.
- Students must be cleared for fines, detentions, and overdue library books in order to pick up tickets.
Anoka DECA has great showing at District DECA Competition
Anoka DECA had an outstanding showing at the recently completed District 4 DECA competition.
Competing against over 425 DECA members from 5 different schools, Anoka DECA had 53 members perform state qualifying efforts.
Anoka DECA was led by event winners Alex Wimmer, Joe Keane, Megan Day, Riyah Ramlawi, Tenzin Namdol, Sarah Hoang, Kaelee Elvine, Randi Ewals, Gavin Langaard, Mabel Gauslin, and Olivia Wojtowicz. Juniors Katelyn Buth, Lilly Klocker and Kalee Elvine finalized in all 3 of their events. While Anoka didn’t take the cup back home, we had a good time. There were 8 events that made up the cup and Anoka won 2 of them. DECA members who won their events were Riyah Ramlawi with finish the lyrics. Karma Waste, Emily Reil, Taylor Barron, Rylee Wahlberg and Skylar Jacobson with hula-hoop relay race. We had lots of fun, lots of laughs, and made memories that will last forever.
Anoka DECA would like to thank those who competed, and congratulate all 97 DECA members who represented themselves, Anoka DECA and THE Anoka family.
Anoka Wrestling Coach Todd Springer becomes winningest wrestling coach!
Congratulation to Anoka Wrestling Coach Todd Springer on emassing 450 wins as a head coach to become the winningest wrestling coach in the tradition laden program.
Come support Anoka Wrestling Friday night at Anoka HS. It is the final Home match of the year, where #10 ranked Anoka faces off against Coon Rapids for the Golden Shoes!
JV starting at 6:00pm and Varsity follows at 7:00pm.

If you missed the PSEO meeting on Jan. 25, you can find the application timeline and process, eligibility requirements and points to consider on the AHS Counseling web page. Please take time to review the linked slideshow including the audio clips explaining each slide. All enrollment steps to follow, forms needed, and links to apply are on the counseling website. Students and parents should review this information then email your AHS counselor with any remaining questions.

The Anoka High School Senior Party Planning Committee is raising funds to provide a fun and safe event for seniors after graduation. We are fully funded with community donations.

Application Window for Tri 3 Anoka Hennepin Online Classes
The Anoka Hennepin Online Learning Program's application is open until February 16. Any student/family that would like to start taking online classes during Trimester 3 must apply during the open window. Students currently taking online classes Trimester 2 do not need to re-apply. All classes will be asynchronous (with no Google Meets). Students will still be able to choose part-time or full-time.
Parents/Guardians must complete the online application by February 16. This does not guarantee enrollment into the Anoka Hennepin Online Learning Program. Parents/Guardians will be notified if more information is needed.
Enrollment is based on courses offered and space available. Once your request is received, you will receive a Parent Permission form that will need to be signed and returned to the online program before registering for online classes.

it is very important for youth to apply NOW if they want a summer job through the Empowers Youth Program. The deadline to apply to have the best chance for getting a summer job is March 15th. Please have them call 763-324-2284 to request an application for a summer job. We have partnered with MANY new employers and are excited to offer several new internship and work experiences this year.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid - FAFSA
This critical financial form should now be available (after a bit of a delay this year). Get to work on filling this out and pay careful attention to the deadlines listed for each of your schools. Without submitting this form, you won’t be considered for need-based aid. Here is some information about the “Soft Launch” of the new form. There may be some periodic pauses that occur for site maintenance and updates.

North Star Promise Scholarship Program
Beginning in fall 2024, the North Star Promise (NSP) Scholarship program will create a tuition and fee-free pathway to higher education for eligible Minnesota residents at eligible institutions as a "last-dollar" program by covering the balance of tuition and fees remaining after other scholarships, grants, stipends and tuition waivers have been applied.
