BOARD BRIEFS 5.10.21
Two New Trustees Sworn. At Monday night's Special Board Meeting, 2 New Board of Trustees took their Oath. Michael Ferguson took Place 3 and Kristi Hargrove in Place 6. Their supporting family accompanied them to cheer them on. Returning Board Members are as follows: Kathy Major in Place 4, Anthony Buck in Place 5 who also took their Oath.
Our Liberty Hill ISD Board of Trustees is AMAZING!!
Budget Workshop. During the Budget workshop, budget priorities were established as LHISD moves into the summer budget planning months. The priorities are 1) Meet the instructional needs of teachers and students, 2) Improve the competitiveness of teacher salaries, 3) Add staff to meet enrollment increases and improve service, 4) Increase the district's fund balance.
Construction Delivery Methods. The board was updated on construction delivery methods for the upcoming bond-related projects. The methods included Construction Manager Agent, Construction Manager At-Risk, Competitive Sealed Bid, Low Bid, and Design-Build.
Action Items
The Board of Trustees approved an Interlocal agreement with Williamson County to build a temporary traffic light on Ronald Reagan Blvd and Santa Rita Blvd. This is to improve the safety of that intersection which serves Santa Rita Elementary and Santa Rita Middle School.
New Hires
The Board of Trustees hired 58 new teachers to fill vacancies and new positions.
Liberty Hill Receives Gordon Wood Award
Awarded by Texas High School Football Hall of Fame, Liberty Hill collects the prestigious Gordon Wood award, given annually to an āespecially noteworthy high school football team that displayed good sportsmanship, the ability to overcome challenges, had the support of the community and achieved success on the field.ā Read more about the Award Ceremony Here, covered by the Liberty Hill Independent.

LHISD Art Students and Fine Arts Day
This Saturday, May 15th is Fine Arts Day. The LHIS band, choir, and theatre will have performances along with performances from the JH and HS band, choir, dance, color guard, and theatre. CTE seeking Summer Internship Partners

Does your child know the bicycle laws or safety precautions? Our ISD police department will offer Bicycle Safety Classes over the summer to educate our students and families on these valuable resources to help them stay safe on their bicycles.
