HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 4 Week 8 December 6 2019
FROM MARK
Dear Parents and Guardians
The 2020 information sent to you on Wednesday describes our plans as best we know them. If we are forced to make any changes we will inform you.
The Three Year Old Kindy concert yesterday and the Siena Concert today were quite remarkable. It was a privilege to be there.
The final week for our children approaches and there is much to celebrate with Graduation, the Christmas Concert, and our End of Year Mass. We look forward to your company.
Have a great weekend
Mark de Kluyver
Principal

UNIFORM SHOP

Uniforms will be available for purchase online via Perm-A-Pleat Schoolwear, with orders being delivered to your home address (not PO Box) for a flat rate of $10 incl GST.
Orders are delivered in 48 hours to Metro areas.
There will be sample sizes available at school if you are unsure of the size you need.
Exchange Policy - Permapleat
If you accidentally order the wrong size, you can send the product/s back with the Exchange Product Form to Perm-A-Pleat Schoolwear and we will post to you free of charge your exchange order. Unfortunately we are not able to offer a credit on your purchase.
The Uniform Shop will be open for the last time on Monday 9th December.
STUDENT LEADERS 2020
Student Leadership at Holy Rosary provides students in Year Six the chance to be active leaders amongst the school community.
Our current Year Five students are in the process of nominating for and electing our 2020 Year Six Leaders. There are a number of leadership opportunities available; Student Leaders, Faction Captains, Music Monitors, Library Monitors and Altar Servers.
All leadership positions will be announced to the Year Five Students by next Tuesday, 10th December, with these students then being honoured at our end of term whole school mass on Friday 13th December. We would love you to join us at mass to congratulate them.
St Vincent de Paul Christmas Hampers
Christmas for many of us is a time of happiness and celebration as we gather with our family and friends sharing meals, laughing and chatting as we open presents, however, for people experiencing poverty and disadvantage Christmas can be a challenging time. The Vinnies
Christmas Appeal encourages the community to rethink their priorities at Christmas time by helping to give joy and hope to those who need it most.
We are seeking your support through the donation of non-perishable food items. This will enable us to provide families and individuals who turn to St Vincent de Paul over this period with Christmas hampers so they too can share in the joy of Christmas.
Suggested items:
- Christmas cakes/puddings/cookies/mince pies
- Chocolates/candies/nuts/ snacks/ nibbles
- Christmas stockings for children
- Soft drinks/juices
- Long life milk
- Tinned ham/fish/fruit/vegetables
- Jams/honey/pickles
- Bon Bons/crackers
- Baby products
All items will be collected in each classroom and donated to St Vincent de Paul at our final whole school mass on Friday, 13th December.
HOLY ROSARY COMMUNITY
MEET ANITA
** New P&F President **
Meet Anita Carr, our new P&F President for the Holy Rosary Community. Anita is mum of Zayn in Year 1, Blakely in Pre-Kindy and 2-year-old Daxton.
Anita has a PR and events background and has worked in local government, so is well placed to handle both the fun and governance side of the P&F. She is approachable and always happy to have a chat; open to feedback and new ideas.
Anita is keen to create opportunities for parents to socialise as a community and to connect people from different year groups. With children at Holy Rosary for the next 11 years, she is focussed on continuing to create opportunities for all children. And, as a small business owner, Anita would like to see families continue to support our Business Community Directory.
Anita has an events business called 'Mums like to Party' to get mothers out socialising and to have a break – so it’s fair to say we are in extremely good hands!
If you would like to join Anita, Jean Williams and Bec Watson on the P&F, we are still looking for a Treasurer and Vice-President.
FUN SWAY GLYDER – CAN YOU HELP?
** Add a row to existing retaining limestone wall**
We’re looking for someone with expertise to add a row of retaining to an existing limestone wall, in preparation for our Sway Fun Glyder arriving Jan 2020.
Existing blocks are: 500x240x350mm (we need to lay 35 - 40).
All reasonable quotes considered - contact Rebecca Watson on 0488 552 267 if you think you can help.
THE ‘WRITE’ GIFT
We have connected with a WA charity Give Write that collects left-over and pre-loved school stationery to recycle, repackage and re-gift to families in WA experiencing financial difficulty.
Our teachers have worked at getting the stationery orders right and there are very few items left over. We will be donating any unused and pre-loved stationery to the Give Write charity - this means no stationery will be coming home with children next week.
Remember to order your book and stationery list: Go to www.campion.com.au and click the red “Order here” button (school’s code is PWUS).
BAKERS DELIGHT WOODLANDS FUNDRAISER
Remember to say: “That’s for Holy Rosary” every time you purchase from Bakers Delight Woodlands. They give back 10% of all our purchases for the year!
Last year we raised close to $1,000 for our school.
Please keep supporting our school’s events and fundraisers!
Please click HERE for Holy Rosary Facebook page.
HOLY ROSARY BUSINESS DIRECTORY
As a Parent Community we would love to see a culture of thinking Holy Rosary first! Please have a look through the directory to see what these businesses might be able to do for you. If you would like to be listed please contact Mark Nolan at holyrosaryhelpers@gmail.com
