Here's a peek at the week ahead!

Week of March 7-11

Our TEKS for the week include:


Humanities:

  • Explain the effects on American Indian life brought about by the Red River War, building of U.S. forts and railroads, and loss of buffalo
  • Use print or digital resources to determine meaning, syllabication, and pronunciation

  • Use context within and beyond a sentence to determine the relevant meaning of unfamiliar words or multiple-meaning words

  • Recognize characteristics and structures of informational text, including: the central idea with supporting evidence

  • Plan a first draft by selecting a genre for a particular topic, purpose, and audience using a range of strategies such as brainstorming, freewriting, and mapping


STEM:

  • Solve problems that deal with measurements of length, intervals of time, liquid volumes, mass, and money using addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division as appropriate

  • Review the following:

  • Observe and identify slow changes to Earth's surface caused by weathering, erosion, and deposition from water, wind, and ice.
  • Identify and classify Earth's renewable resources, including air, plants, water, and animals, and nonrenewable resources, including coal, oil, and natural gas.
