Here's a peek at the week ahead!
Week of March 7-11
Our TEKS for the week include:
Humanities:
- Explain the effects on American Indian life brought about by the Red River War, building of U.S. forts and railroads, and loss of buffalo
Use print or digital resources to determine meaning, syllabication, and pronunciation
Use context within and beyond a sentence to determine the relevant meaning of unfamiliar words or multiple-meaning words
Recognize characteristics and structures of informational text, including: the central idea with supporting evidence
Plan a first draft by selecting a genre for a particular topic, purpose, and audience using a range of strategies such as brainstorming, freewriting, and mapping
STEM:
Solve problems that deal with measurements of length, intervals of time, liquid volumes, mass, and money using addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division as appropriate
Review the following:
- Observe and identify slow changes to Earth's surface caused by weathering, erosion, and deposition from water, wind, and ice.
- Identify and classify Earth's renewable resources, including air, plants, water, and animals, and nonrenewable resources, including coal, oil, and natural gas.
