A Message from Mrs. Nelson
Happy Friday, Everyone!!
Parent-Teacher conferences are fast approaching! This year, they are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 12 and Wednesday, Oct. 13, 4:00-8:00 p.m. Due to higher class sizes, some grade levels will also offer in person or virtual conferences on Thursday, Oct. 14. Please note that this exception is not for all grade levels. In order to better accommodate you, we are offering families a choice of in person or virtual conferences. Conferences will be 15 minutes with a 5 minute break in between to allow for teachers to prep for the next conference.
Conference sign ups are now closed. Please call Mrs. Rawson in the office if you would like to make any changes or are in need of signing up.

Veteran's Day Program - November 11
PreK Enrollment 2022-23 school year
To all families interested in having their child apply and be screened for our district's 2022-2023 preschool classrooms, please note there will be an application that opens up on October 1st through our district website, specifically on the Early Childhood Home Page. You will find a link to a Google Form to complete with your child's information. We will send out a sign-up genius in December to those families that apply to select a screening date and time, which is required to enter our preschool lottery. We always have more applicants than we can serve, therefore this will be a first come first serve process for sign-ups. Once sign-ups are complete, we plan to screen all Peer Models in January of 2022 and complete our lottery by the end of that month. All families will be notified if their child will be placed in our preschool at the beginning of February. If any part of our process changes, we will notify each applicant's family via email. **If you are a current three year old student in our preschool program, you do not need to complete this as you will be able to move to our four year old class automatically.***
Educational Guidance for Elementary Closure - COVID19
- If one (1) confirmed case of COVID-19 has occurred in a classroom, all students and staff in the class will be required to wear a mask, while indoors, for 14 calendar days following the last unmasked exposure.
- Masking will continue to be required if a second case is identified in the same classroom. If additional cases are identified within the masked classroom, BPS will work with DCHD to determine if a classroom closure is necessary.
- If two (2) or more classrooms in a school are closed within a 14-day period, ALL students and staff in the building will be required to wear a mask at all times while inside the school building for 28 calendar days (two incubation periods) following the second classroom closure.
Beginning with positive cases identified on or after August 31, a classroom-based mask requirement will take effect on the following school day for the entire 14-day period. You will be notified by your child’s principal regarding the final day of your student’s mask requirement. This notification is done via email which will have a letter attached. If a second case occurs within 14 days of the first case, the masking period may be extended up to an additional 14 days. If your child arrives at school without a mask, one will be provided for him/her.
Thank you for your assistance in keeping our classrooms open for our students.

Bus Fees - The transportation department will be sending out invoices through My School Bucks in September. You will pay for transportation fees through the website.
Bus Passes - Lost bus passes cost $25 to replace. Please email or call the office to order a replacement bus pass if needed.
