Sense of Belonging Student Survey - Parent Preview & Opt-Out Info

One of the district’s goals is to build an inclusive campus culture where all students feel safe, supported, and connected. To help the district focus our efforts on identified needs, students will be taking a short anonymous Belonging Survey during the survey window from December 5-16, 2022. Parents can preview the survey for grades 1-3 and grades 4-12.

District and building results will be shared with parents at a future Board of Education meeting and through the building newsletters. Parents may opt their student out of the survey by completing this opt-out form.

Two-Hour Delay - Monday, December 5

New Albany High School will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule on Monday, December 5th, for the Ohio State Test for Government. The Government test is for Juniors and Seniors currently enrolled in an AP Government or Government, Politics, and Economics course.

Students taking the Government State Test

Students who are testing are expected to be at their assigned testing location with their iPad charged, no other electronics, and a pencil at approximately 7:45 am. Students who are testing will receive a detailed email that will include the specific location(s) two days prior to their test date. Please help communicate the importance of adequate sleep and nutrition, so students perform to the best of their ability.

Students NOT taking the Government State Test

Students who are not testing on Monday, December 5th, do not need to report to school until 9:45 AM. Our buses will run on their regular schedule as they would on a typical school day. If a student needs to take the bus to school in the morning, they will report to the High School cafeteria for a supervised study center until classes begin at 9:45 AM.

Student Drop-off and Pick-up Reminders

This is a reminder that all parents dropping-off or picking-up are asked to use the designated areas that have staffing to support. This would include Fodor Rd loop, the McCoy loop, the MS/HS loop, Chatham Green loop, and Primary front entrance loop. You are asked to stay along the curb so that students can safely exit onto the sidewalk. Parents seeking to come into the building may use any designated visitor parking but are asked not to use any numbered parking spaces as they are reserved spaces for teacher/staff parking only.

Students crossing Fodor Rd or Dublin-Granville Rd as part of their travel to and from school are asked to use only dedicated crosswalk areas and are asked to activate the lighted signals in order to cross safely. The New Albany Police Department has advised that no students should be released from their parents vehicles directly onto Dublin-Granville Rd.

Thank you for your patience as we strive to safely transport over 5100 students to and from our campus each day. Together, we are stronger and can protect the safety and welfare of everyone.
