Wednesday's activity: Taken from "Why Teachers Should Connect" using "Sentence, Phrase, Word".

SENTENCE: "As teachers, we need to be modeling the type of independent learning that we expect from our students."

PHRASE: "learn from others in our field"

WORD: "connect"

Important Information:

Repeated announcement: DO NOT send students to the lounge to run errands for you, such as getting ice, putting lunch in the fridge, etc. The lounge is an adult only place for two reasons: health/safety and privacy. In addition, do not send students through the back office door to pick up your teacher mail. This too is an adult only area. You should check your box before and after school and on your planning time. If you need to have something from your box, please have a student come to the front window with a note from you. Thank you!

Purple Forms and Teacher Characteristics Letters: Purple forms were due to Michelle on Monday, in alphabetical order. Teacher Characteristics Letters were due to the office on Wednesday. If a student brings in a Teacher Characteristic Letter, please send the student to the office to turn it in. It will be time and date stamped. PLEASE DO NOT make promises to parents about teachers for next year. We cannot keep those promises.

Walking Works: Sync up!

Destination College: See an email from me about this event. Don't forget: PHOTO CONTEST. Send a picture of your students (and you) in college attire. Make sure kiddos are clear to have their pictures posted on the internet! HASHTAGS:

Field Day: Thank you to Molly and all of the Specials Team for a super Field Day. Thanks to all of our teachers for your participation! Please send photos (kids must be cleared) to be featured in next week's HH.

Compliments to the Huskies!

Yesterday, I received this text from Jenny Nesbit and I thought you'd like to read:

"I'm going to miss everyone! I really was hoping to come back and work with you at Huebner!" (She's moving to Austin.) "I'm sure you know this, but your staff there is awesome. After working at another school, I wasn't sure I wanted to teach anymore, but being at Huebner for 12 weeks made me realize I still want to. I'm super grateful for that!"
