A Message From Our Principal
Greetings,
We are excited to be able to offer the 4/1 model as a way to get back to more in-person days for students. This model will continue with an all virtual Monday followed by 4 days (Tuesday through Friday) as in-person. Surveys were available for parents to complete and decide if they want their child to remain all virtual (5 days) or return to the building in the 4/1 model. We are looking at numbers now and are preparing to welcome students to the building for more in-person instruction. If you did not complete the survey then your child was placed in the option they were already attending with extra days added to the Hybrid student, either all virtual or hybrid 4 days in-person instruction. There will always be an option to go to full virtual and only one more option to return to school at the start of the fourth marking period in April. Of course if you have any questions feel free to contact the school.
We are already approaching the interim progress of the third marking period. At this time we would be handing out prom packets and preparing for the prom scheduled for May 21 at Harrah's. However, we have deadlines quickly approaching such as DJ, flowers, etc.. and no word from the governor on larger indoor gatherings. Much of what he has put out does not pertain to our type of gathering. We are in discussion about something outdoors and possibly only seniors, although as I said we are in discussion and will have more information out shortly. We certainly want to have something special for the seniors so more to come on this event.
Scholarship applications for seniors can be looked into with Ms. Duffy in guidance. All information she has is out so Seniors should look each day to apply for College Scholarships. All guidance counselors are readily available to assist any Senior.
Be on the lookout for information for the National Honor Society inductions. We will be holding a ceremony during the school day and unfortunately without parents but it will be live streamed so all can view. Ms. Theophall will be sending out information on this event.
Tonight, Friday March 5, “Under the Milk Wood” will be streamed for your viewing pleasure. Our students and production crew have worked extremely hard without the cheers of an audience to bring together this wonderful production. The Arts in EHTHS stand strong and will continue to work with students to fulfil great expectations!
Our boys basketball program has clinched the division title and will have the first boys basketball banner in our gymnasium! It's been a crazy road this season but so exciting for student athletes. Wrestling and Girls Volleyball have just begun their indoor season and we wish them the very best. If you are planning to participate in any spring sport, now is the time to get those physicals in and all the paperwork ready!
Until next week, stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!
Ms. Connor
