I want to sincerely thank you all for a wonderful three years at GP. Starting in the midst of a pandemic, transitioning back to campus, and implementing some systems of normalcy, it has been a wild and amazing ride.

I am moving to another Deer Valley school to serve as their new Assistant Principal for the 2023-2024 school year. Gavilan Peak is a true family community and I have come to know so many of you very well. I appreciate the partnership, I am leaving GP with nothing but fond memories.

Gavilan Peak is in the process of interviewing a new Assistant Principal.

  Register My Athlete

  Register my athlete is a site that we will be using to clear students for participation in after school athletics. (We will no longer be accepting paper packets)

  In order for an athlete to be elegible for after school athletics, they must:

  1. Complete the enrollment forms at http://registermyathlete.com
  2. Turn in a physical evaluation forms signed by a physician. Form A and Form B
  3. Complete the Brainbook concussion course at https://aiaacademy.org/. I paper certificate or electronic certificate must be turned into the athletic office.

Just a few reminders from Nurse Amber before you put on your pool floaties and start chillaxin’…

Don’t forget to wear sunscreen! Arizona is #11 in the country for cases of skin cancer, and most people diagnosed admit they had been lifetime sun worshipers or never wore sunscreen. Wearing sunscreen reduces the signs of aging, limits the appearance of sunspots, protects you from sunburn, helps you avoid broken blood vessels, and can prevent your skin from drying out as a result of pool chemicals.

Always watch children, and each other, around water. Arizona is #14 for drowning deaths in the country. This number is a combination of pools, Jacuzzis, lakes, rivers, neighborhood water features, and bathtubs. This number also represents people of all ages, including those who were considered “Good Swimmers”. There are numerous factors that can contribute to drownings including heat exhaustion, muscle cramps/physical exhaustion, intoxication, injuries, and many more. Remember to designate one person to be the "lifeguard" and switch out duties every 30 minutes so everyone gets a chance to have fun!

GPS Nurse summer hours! If you need to pick up medications, Nurse Amber will be on campus May 24, 25, and 26th from 8am until 3pm.

All 2023-2024 forms for next school year will be posted on the Gavilan Peak School website by June 1st so you can update care plans and medications with your doctors over the summer. Nurse Amber will also be on campus July 25, 26, 28 and on “Meet the Teacher Night” so you can turn in medications and/or paperwork for the 2023-2024 school year. REMINDER: ALL PAPERWORK FOR MEDICATIONS, MEDICAL TREATMENTS, CARE PLANS, OR EXCLUSIONS & EXEMPTIONS NEED TO BE RENEWED EVERY SCHOOL YEAR.
