CIS Weekly Update
#20: January 17-21
PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
Welcome back to a short week of school. We hope families enjoyed the bonus day on Tuesday.
The weather is going to be very cold by the end of the week. We still have many students who don't come to school with a coat. Please help remind your child to bring a coat, hats and possibly gloves to school each day. We go outside if the feels like temperature is 15 degrees or above.
Thank you to families who were able to get out to Casa Del Rio on a snowy Monday! I saw many families there and we are thankful for your support. PTO will receive 20% of the proceeds.
Have Good Week!

Change in COVID-19 Isolation and Quarantine Guidelines
The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) released a statement that indicated they have adopted the new CDC guidance on isolation and quarantine; the Medina County Health Department notified us they have adopted the new guidance as well. The following is taken from the ODH press release:
"The Ohio Department of Health has released a flow chart based on the CDC’s updated guidance following an exposure to someone with COVID-19. Regardless of vaccination status or symptoms, anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 must isolate for at least 5 days. However, if symptoms are improving, isolation may end on the sixth day following either symptom onset or a positive COVID-19 test if the person consistently wears a mask for the next five days. Detailed quarantine and isolation guidance are available in the flow chart. The Ohio Department of Health has also updated K-12 school quarantine guidance including “mask to stay” and “test to play” timelines accordingly."
Our school district will follow the new guidance. While the new guidance is still being worked through, it appears that the only change to the guidelines we have been following is to the length of time someone must remain in isolation or quarantine.
Transportation Changes
Important Transportation Changes beginning January 3, 2022
Due to ongoing staffing shortages, including the recent retirement of a bus driver, we have made the decision to consolidate bus routes.
