The Great Barrier Reef is made up of 2,900 individual reefs off the coast of Queensland in northeast Australia. The massive reef can be seen from space and is not only the world's largest coral reef system, but it's also the largest structure on Earth made by living organisms.

The Great Barrier Reef Visitors Bureau is a huge help to travelers. They will help set up currency exchange and help find hotels and restaurants fitting to the traveler. Plus, the bureau is free.
Tips for Travelers
The drinking water in the surrounding areas are very safe and clean to drink. Travelers should be sure to apply lots of sunscreen to help protect from burning from the sun. Also, bebe sure to being hats, sunglasses, comfortable clothing, and walking shoes. There are several medical locations around incase anything is to happen.
