What is Brooklyn Buzz?
First Week Update
We had open house on Tuesday evening and I received a lot of positive feedback on how we organized the evening. I have included a link to see how we did and what we can do to improve next year. Survey for Open House.
Day 1 - Our students were dismissed in the morning to their classes with the halls lined with staff and students. As students walked through the halls we all clapped for them and welcomed them to the new school year. Every kid was smiling and excited to be in school.
On Thursday, Ms. Smith, myself and the counselors met with all grade levels to review our expectations for the upcoming school year and explained how those expectations relate to our PBIS matrix - RISE. We gave examples and students explained how RISE looked in school in all areas.
On Friday, we had a school wide assembly to review RISE again and completed various activities to show the students what it means to demonstrate RISE.
RISE is our PBIS matrix.
R stands for Responsibility
I stands for Integrity

Throughout the year, we will stay focused on this information. Ask your kids what they know.
