Principal's Message
We had a great first week at ACE! Your kids spent the week getting used to the building and how we do things here, and there were smiles all day, every day. And our entire staff is so grateful for the messages of support you have sent to each of us. It is hard to open a new school, but your encouragement keeps us all going.
This week we will begin celebrating your kids in a big way. Each week their teachers will nominate an ACE Student of the Week. These students will be nominated based upon their living out the core values of our school. The teachers will be asked to give a story on how they lived it out, and I'll use those stories as I do announcements in the morning. But the best part for kids is that the students of the week will get to get 1 to 3 friends and they will be able to sit at our booths in the cafeteria for that entire week! They will be the center of attention!
This is just one more way we are seeking to make our school the very best part of every kid's day!

New Ace Staff Member!
Please join me in welcoming Jennifer Escamilla to the ACE team! She is our fourth 2nd grade teacher and comes to us with previous experience at Galena Park. She has 3 kids and has been married for 12 years. She has been out of the profession for several years but has realized that she missed teaching kids too much so she has landed with us! We are incredibly fortunate to have her!

Construction Update
Where are the playgrounds?
You may have noticed that our playgrounds are now under construction at ACE! But you may be wondering when they will be fully complete. Unfortunately we are still about 4 weeks from officially opening our playgrounds. Work still has to be done including receiving and installing the rubberized surface that will be around and under the equipment to protect kids if they fall. It is going to look great because it is multi-colored like the interior of our building is! The good news is that we are getting there.
Students will still be playing organized games at recess in our field and visiting some of our outside corridors around the building. And now that we have our PE equipment we will be distributing balls and other items so kids can play.
Drop off reminders
Thank you for helping us to maintain a safe and orderly environment during morning drop off! Here are a few things we want you to be aware of each day:
Drop off will occur in 1 line.
We do ask you to stay in your car at all times. ACE staff can assist with unloading as necessary.
If you jump out of line after you drop off and try to pass other cars, you will be stopped by staff. This is for student safety.
If your kids are older and are able, they can open their own doors and get out of their cars as long as your car is anywhere between our front door and the cafeteria.
We will continue to move all cars forward toward the cafeteria to maximize space. Students may enter through the cafeteria or through our front door.
If your student is eating breakfast, direct them to the cafeteria instead of the front doors. Our staff will do the same thing.
Drop off supervision begins at 7:30am, and building doors are unlocked at that time.
Afternoon Pickup Reminders
We are continuing to work down the amount of time it takes to pick up your kids at ACE. There are some ways you can speed the process:
Always bring your car rider tag for all kids you will be picking up. If you are missing one we will require you to come inside to show your ID for checkout.
Remind your kids to watch our dismissal screen in the classroom for their name. They are free to go to you through the cafeteria where we will supervise them entering your car. If they are delayed in getting to you, it is very likely they were not paying attention!
Please communicate with your child's teacher or the front office if your students are going home a different way on any given day. Those notifications must be received by 2:00pm.
Please stay in your car at all times. ACE staff will help to load your kids in the car.
We are still waiting on more cones to be delivered so we can manage traffic flow even better. What you currently see in our parking lot is every cone we could scrounge from Lowe's in the area!
