Special Thanks for being Wonderful Parents!!
During math we were working on capacity. Many of our students already had a great understanding of this due to you taking the time to do special activities with them. Many related capacity to baking with their moms. Other students related it to watching you fill your gas tank and taking the time to say how many gallons your vehicle holds. Many of them had some background knowledge to help them understand gallons, quarts, pints, cups, and ounces. Great job Moms and Dads!
Social Studies
Science is over for the six weeks and we are moving to Social Studies. We will finish off our unit on Native Americans this week. Next week we will start discussing European settlers in Texas.
Math
For the next few weeks in math we will be focusing on division. The students will be learning long division this week. Of course this takes lots of practice so we will be spending a few weeks on the skill and then learning how to solve problems with the skill.
