Participants will view and discuss video cases, examine student work and share professional development learning cycles to support teachers in enacting formative assessment practices with their students.
Math Resources and Related Training
Texas Gateway
The Texas Gateway delivers TEA-approved classroom-ready instructional resources and PD training opportunities to teachers across the state.
A gateway to the resources you need. For your classroom. For yourself. Gain instant access to the content you seek, whether you are looking for “just-in-time” resources that you can leverage during a particular lesson, sequenced binders of instruction that you can assign to students, or self-directed PD training courses that you can take to earn CPE credit hours.
**For best results, access the Texas Gateway using Chrome or Firefox browsers!
CTE 101
This course provides an overview of Career and Technical Education in Texas and how it is implemented at the state and local levels. Teachers who are not certified in CTE and have been assigned to teach one of the CTE courses (such as Mathematical Applications in ANFR) for mathematics or science credit must complete CTE 101. CTE-certified teachers may complete CTE 101, but it is not a requirement.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will earn four CPE credits.
Teachers who previously completed the PD requirements in Project Share for the courses he/she is teaching will not be required to repeat the training.
Participants may join the course at CTE 101: Career and Technical Education in Texas http://www.texasgateway.org/course/cte-101-career-and-technical-education-texas
Contact txgateway@tea.texas.gov for any additional questions or assistance.
Keep Calm and Java on
The Texas Regional Collaboratives (TRC) at UT Austin, in partnership with Oracle Academy, is offering a series of courses for Texas teachers interested in teaching computer science. This series of professional development experiences will prepare participants to teach courses such as Computer Science I, Computer Science II, or AP Computer Science. Since the AP Computer Science course is based on the Java programming language, this will be the focus of the technical training component. The KCJO coursework July 18-22, 2016 will focus on Java Fundamentals.
Educators who complete this training will be eligible to participate in the follow-up online Java Programming Course August 1-11, 2016.
Please visit the TRC Event page for this training for additional details and application and registration instructions.
