Grading Guidelines

PreK-2nd Grade

Enlightium Academy’s grading guidelines for grades PreK-8 ensure that students are given sufficient opportunities to show evidence of their skills or mastery of a subject that a student has learned. The guidelines provide standard grading practices for primary school students.

Note. Grading should be both formative and summative in nature and should reflect adherence to rigorous learning, communication, motivation, instructional decision-making, and documentation of learning.

THE EVALUATION CODES FOR ACADEMIC SUBJECTS

A = Outstanding level of performance:

Indicates that the student has done excellent work and has mastered the course objectives, consistently does excellent work with skill and thoroughness, and consistently has applied knowledge gained to new situations.

Evaluation Guide: My student excels in knowledge of the lesson plan expectations and follows the worksheet directions worksheet. (90-100%)

B = High level of performance:

Indicates that the student has done above average work, mastered almost all of the course objectives, and has applied knowledge gained to new situations.

Evaluation Guide: My student demonstrates basic knowledge of the lesson plan expectations and follows the worksheet directions. (80-89%)

C = Satisfactory level of performance:

Indicates that the student has done average work and has mastered many of the objectives of the course.

Evaluation Guide: My student demonstrates sufficient knowledge of the lesson plan expectations and follows the worksheet directions. (70-79%)

D = Needs improvement in performance:

Indicates that the student has done below average work and has mastered a few of the objectives of the course.

Evaluation Guide: My student demonstrates some knowledge of the lesson plan expectations and follows most of the worksheet directions. (60-69%)

F = Unsatisfactory level of performance:

Indicates that the student's work fell below a level of acceptance for the course and was unsatisfactory.

Evaluation Guide: My student needs extra guidance with completion of the lesson plan expectations and with the completion of the worksheet. (0-59%)
