WEEKLY UPDATE
While it's been a short week after observing the Queen Elizabeth II Memorial day on Monday, it's been a very busy one! We have had many student events during the week and all classes have been busy wrapping up for the term.
As we look back on the term, we acknowledge all our staff's hard work and dedication. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful team working together for our College community. We look forward to Paul McGuinness' return in Term 4, and I would like to take the opportunity to thank my colleagues for all of their support and the whānau members and students who have made a special effort to make my time as acting principal so fruitful. I will resume my deputy principal position in Term 4.
As Term 3 comes to a close, please be reminded that Campion College will open for Term 4 on Monday, 17 October, with school exams for seniors and regular school for our juniors. Have a very enjoyable break e te whānau.
STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE ON THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Yesterday voting took place for the student representative on the Board of Trustees. We had three excellent candidates who each delivered fantastic campaign speeches to the student body. We congratulate our newly elected student representative, Jacqueline Nankivell.
SIR JOHN KIRWAN VISIT
This we had the privilege of hosting Sir John Kirwan at Campion College. JK spoke to our Year 11 to 13 students and his message was a simple one. JK says we should all have a plan for our mental wellbeing and tells us that everyday we should "Do one thing" for ourselves. Thank you for sharing your inspirational message, JK, and for the taking the time to allow our students to take many, many photos with you.
CULTURAL FESTIVAL
A team of Year 13 students organised a lunch time cultural festival on Thursday. The festival showcased six amazingly talented student acts. Thank you to all those who shared their God given talents with our College community. He rawe koutou e te iwi!

A PRAYER FOR THE HOLIDAYS
E te Atua, We thank you Lord, for this term.
For the challenges, the successes,
and the mistakes from which we have learnt.
Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.
Give us strength and courage to do what is right;
to be witnesses of our faith.
Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays,
to appreciate what others do for us,
to give time and effort to help others,
to be peacemakers in our family.
Keep us safe in our activities;
give us good rest and good fun.
Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.
We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents
and a community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives.
Amene.
Wishing everyone a very blessed and safe holiday break. We will see you all back at school on Monday 17 October.
Yours in Christ,
Karyn Sadler
