CPJH Admin Team
Creekside Park celebrates Start with Hello Week next week! September 19-23
Start with Hello is a program created to teach students ways to be more socially inclusive and connect with others. Including others and creating a sense of community is an important skill in life that can be practiced and can be done every day. We will be celebrating Start with Hello week September 19-23 to promote a more united, inclusive community here at CPJH.
Here are some ways you can connect:
Share strategies for starting conversations. Create your own conversation starters or try using the following: How is your day going? What did you do in class?
Discuss cyber bullying. Talk about what respect and social inclusion looks like on social media and discuss what to do if they witness cyber bullying.
Peanut Butter Drive
Our peanut drive will be September 19th - 30th. Did you know that in Houston alone, 1 in 6 adults and 1 in 4 children struggle with hunger? CPJH wants to ensure no family goes hungry! Drop off peanut butter in the front lobby area. Be sure to put it in your Cougar Den teacher's box. The winning Cougar Den will win a pizza party provided by The Cheesecake Factory!
As a reminder, students are not allowed to have cell phones out in the hallway. They may only have their phones out during lunch in the cafeteria. There have been many students that are on phones on the way to lunch. Please remind them that phones should be put away until they arrive in the cafeteria. Thank you so much for your help!

Chess Club will begin on Monday, September 19th from 3:15- 3:50 in the library. Every student MUST have information on file to be able to participate. Please click on the button to complete the form. Thank you! Mrs. Walker and Mr. Khanna
Car Rider in the Afternoon
Please remember that cars are not allowed in the front parking lot, unless there is a special circumstance (special needs student, student injury, etc.). Some students have been running across the parking lot to find their parent's car, and this creates an unsafe situation. Please coordinate with your child to let him/her know where you will be located or plan to pick them up in the back of the school where the car rider line is located. Thank you!
Cougar Families, please make sure you review the dress code carefully to avoid any interruptions to instructional time:
Highlights of the Dress Code that all students should be aware of include but are not limited to:
- All students must wear clothing that adequately covers the body. Shorts and/or skirts must reach the mid-thigh. Spaghetti straps, strapless, backless, see-through and low-cut tops are not allowed. Tops must cover the midriff.
- All male students must be clean-shaven and may not display any piercings including the ear. Hair cannot extend past the bottom of a dress collar or T-shirt neckline.
- Students are not allowed to wear hats, bandanas, or other head coverings. Please leave your hats at home.
- Hair should be clean and neatly groomed. It should not cover the eyes or be colored (including partial coloring or tips) or styled in any way that is distracting to the learning environment (i.e. unnatural hair colors such as but not limited to pink, purple, blue, green). We continue to work with district and community leaders to ensure that we follow the best safety practices available to us. We perform regular drills, discuss situations with students and continually review our facilities and procedures for areas of growth.
In an effort to keep the community informed, we have attached a quick Parents Guide to our Standard Response Protocols for various situations.
This information comes from the I Love You Guys Foundation Standard Response Protocol framework. More information can be found at http://iloveyouguys.org
