Now is the time to finalize plans for School Library Month!
Marketing Magic
Plop! Plop! Fizz! Fizz! - Oh what a relief it is!
Toys R Us
“I don’t wanna grow up, I’m a Toys R Us kid”
Oscar Mayer
“My bologna has a first name, it’s O-S-C-A-R”
Can you sing these? If these are too old for you (I am 50 you know), I'm sure there are other slogans or jingles that catch your attention. Why am I talking about this? Because marketing can work for us too! Twitter has been a nemesis for me-- I want to say so much more than the character limit allows. However, in the past few months-- I have learned to make the most of my Twitter allocation. Thank you to those who have helped create a TWITTER storm for libraries the past couple of months. We invite new participants to join us-- here's a few things to remember:
1. Please tag me :) @MunioLibrarian so that I can ReTweet
2, Always use the word Library or Librarian in your Tweet - locations are good when they fit
3. Describe WHAT you are doing
4. Include a picture of students in action (Don't forget to check for signed photo releases)

Thoughts about Scheduling
The Alabama School Library Media Handbook is the legal guiding document for School Libraries in Alabama. Regarding scheduling, you will find that full-flex, blended and fixed are mentioned in the handbook. The document states that the schedule should be decided by the Principal and the Librarian after deciding which will best meet the needs of the students. In order to make that decision, you must be well informed about each type of schedule-- hope the resources below help--but be sure to read them all. Remember that the schedule is about what is best for students.
