HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 1 Week 3 - 16 February
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This reflection challenges us to reflect on the important stuff – and it’s not easy. It was great to see so many parents and extended family who joined us at Mass at the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday this week when Father Peter, in his kind and thoughtful way, encouraged us to journey well and wisely. Our thanks to our year Five students and their teachers Erin, Liz and Sandra who prepared the mass, and to Michelle and her choir for leading us so well. The children were beautifully behaved – it was such a pleasure to be with them.
The Year Six Gang return today from being on camp in Albany all week. It has been a sensational week. I had the opportunity to visit them yesterday at Denmark Thrills, a new activity , and a fantastic one at that. Children and teachers were enjoying themselves immensely! I know that Lachie and Kate have really enjoyed the start of the year with their classes, and the opportunity to get to know them well over this week when everyone is out of their regular environment, is a richly rewarding experience. To Kate, Lachie, Geordie, Brother Stephen, Deb and Sheila, our sincere thanks for making this experience possible for our children.
A reminder that signing up to the Facebook page run by our P&F is really worthwhile. It is a fantastic source of information!
Our first assembly led by our 4D students is on next Friday – see you there!
Have a great weekend.
Mark de Kluyver

PARKING # 1 - REMINDERS
Please do not:
- Park over footpaths
- Block driveways
- Park in a No Stopping or No Parking areas
- Double park
- Park on a verge without the owner’s consent
- Park facing the wrong way
There is normally plenty of parking available at Hale Hockey carpark.
PARKING # 2 - MONDAY FEBRUARY 19
A meeting of all primary and secondary principals in WA is scheduled next door and as such it is highly likely that the Hale Hockey car park is going to be full. While Kindy and Preprimary children must be dropped off and collected from class by an adult, we suggest that for families with children in Years 1-6 only, that, as far as possible, using the Drive Through in front of the Hall (MAP) will go a long way to alleviating at least some of the congestion which is bound to happen.

COLES - SCHOOLS FOR SPORTS
Holy Rosary Primary has today registered to be a part of the Coles Schools for Sports program. For those aware of the program, please start or keep collecting tokens. For those unaware of the program - see details below on what to do and how you can help.
WHAT IS COLES - SCHOOLS FOR SPORTS:
When you shop at Coles, you'll receive Sports for Schools vouchers that your local school can exchange for sports gear. The more vouchers you collect, the more sports gear they'll receive. Start collecting today because the race is on!
WHAT TO DO:
IF YOU SHOP IN-STORE
For every $10 spent at Coles, you will receive one Sports for Schools voucher.
You then bring vouchers to your school, placing them in the collection bins provided. NOTE: These bins will be arriving at the school in the next 2 weeks, so please hold on to your vouchers until then.
Every voucher you donate to your school can be redeemed for leading brand sports equipment.
IF YOU SHOP ON-LINE
Select your school to donate your voucher.
NOTE: We have only registered the school today, so it may be a few days before our school appears on the list. If this is the case, please keep checking and update. If the school is still not an option in the next few days, please advise in the comments. Thanks.
For every $10 spent on Coles online, a digital voucher will be sent to your selected school.
Every digital voucher you donate to your school can be redeemed for leading brand sports equipment.
So time to tell your family, friends, neighbours and anyone who will listen to start collecting Coles School for Sports Vouchers for Holy Rosary Primary School!
