Weekly Family Update #34
April 11, 2021
Principal's Message
Hello Falcon Families,
We made it! Spring Break, woohoo!! Thank you so much for your incredible patience, resilience, flexibility, grace, and trust during this incredibly difficult school year. I am very excited that little bits of normalcy are returning to our lives. We are in the home stretch. Only 9 more weeks of school left. I encourage your Falcon to really slow down and enjoy this break from school. Please take the time to turn off that Chromebook. It is time to unplug, time to rest, time to recharge, and time to soak up some sunshine!!
One update. When we return from Spring Break, because we are increasing the total number of students who are on campus each day, we will move to a new bell schedule that allows for two different lunch periods. This will look familiar to returning Falcon families, as this is what our bell schedule looks like during normal circumstances. The length of classes and beginning and end of the school day remain exactly the same, we have just adjusted some breaks to make an additional lunch period. All 6th grade students will have the first lunch period and all 7th and 8th grade students will have the second lunch period. You can see the schedule below.
Calendar Reminders:
Spring Break no school: April 12-16
On Sunday April 18 I will send out the regularly scheduled newsletter with our weekly mountain of information.
Rest up Falcons! Enjoy your Spring Break, you deserve it!!
Thanks for all you do for our Oak Valley Community! Go Falcons!
Beaming with Falcon Pride,
Mr. Young

Oak Valley Falcon Foundation Dine Out Night 4/14/21
It’s Spring Break, and if you’re like us, all you hear daily is everyone asking, “what’s for dinner!?” We’ve got the answer for you at the Oak Valley Falcon Foundation’s April Dine Out Night at Chipotle! All you need to do is eat burritos (or bowls, or a salad, your choice!) and the Foundation will receive 33% of the proceeds of our dine-out night.
Date: Wednesday, April 14
Time: 5:00-9:00pm
Where: Chipotle in 4S Ranch
Here’s some important information so that the Foundation receives credit for your orders (more detail on the flyer attached):
Order Ahead: You can order online, using the Online “Promo” Code: QV9FNZ4 (note: this is for online pickup orders during our fundraiser time window only. The fundraiser doesn’t include delivery.)
Order in Person: You can also go into the 4S Ranch Chipotle with the attached flyer (printed or on your phone), and order right there. Forget the flyer? No problem - just tell the cashier you’re there for the fundraiser. Easy peasy…the hardest part is going to be figuring out what you want in your burrito.
And while we’re at it, be sure to “follow” us on Facebook where we will have this and future Dine Out Nights posted, as well as some fun photos of your donations in action!

Let’s go, Falcons – time to make Burrito Wednesday a thing!
Spring Break Safety Reminder
Dear Falcon Families,
As we approach Spring Break, when we would typically travel or gather with family and friends, your cooperation will help us to ensure that we can continue the reopening of our schools and avoid a spike in cases, similar to what we experienced after Winter Break, which forced us to temporarily close campuses.
Important reminders for everyone are: to wear a mask in public, wash your hands, practice physical distancing wherever you go, and stay home if you’re feeling sick.
While fully vaccinated people can resume domestic travel and do not need to get tested before or after travel or self-quarantine after travel, California’s travel advisory is still in effect that provides recommendations for unvaccinated people to avoid nonessential travel. We ask that unvaccinated students who travel outside of California during Spring Break follow the recommended quarantine protocols when returning back to school. Also, be reminded that if you or your children exhibit any symptoms, please stay home, so we can protect the health of our students and staff and keep our schools open.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and support to keep COVID-19 out of our schools. We look forward to seeing all of our students and staff back on campus. Please be safe, and enjoy this time of rest and relaxation with your family.
PTSA Breakfast of Champions Character Award Winners
Congratulations to our Breakfast of Champions winners for the month of March. Each month we highlight one of the 6 Character Counts! pillars; staff selects two students each year who embody those characteristics. Mr. Young delivered a certificate, yard sign, and a little breakfast treat to each winner.
Thank to the PTSA for sponsoring this event each year!!
Congratulations to all of our winners for the month of Responsibility!
