Picture Day - Tuesday, September 12th!
Picture day is next Tuesday, September 12th. Even if you are not planning to purchase pictures, all students will be photographed, so they can be included in our yearbook.
About a week after picture day, you will receive an e-mail from Jostens giving you access to your student's picture and the opportunity to order pictures.
Retakes will be on October 17, 2023, for those desiring to have their picture re-taken or if your student was absent on picture day.
The e-mail from Jostens will be sent to the person who's name is the contact person for your student on file with BAS. If you have not received a message from Jostens by September 20th, please check you spam folder to see if the message landed there. Questions, please address to Ruth at SchworR@Brightonk12.com

PTO Buzz
Wishing everyone a great start to the 2023-24 school year at Hornung! As always, our PTO has many things a buzz and we are looking forward to an amazing year. One of our first events will be the COLOR RUN! If you haven't received a form, please see the attachment to register. Registration is required so that we can order t-shirts and fundraise for more fun events.
This year, you might see the new Hornung Mascot buzzing around our events. Kids will meet the mascot next week and submit ideas to vote for its name.
Thank you to the Hornung Family who donated the “Welcome Back” signage on display this week. It helped make the return to school a little more special. Reporting Your Student's Absence in Parent Connect
There is a helpful feature in Parent Connect that allows you to enter your student’s absence. Simply log into parent connect and click on the link Report Absence. The Report Absence link will open a screen for you to complete. If you have more than one student check the name of the student for whom an absence is being submitted. Add the applicable dates. If you check the All Day flag attendance will be submitted for the am and pm periods. If you do not check the All Day flag times must be entered and attendance will be submitted for whichever periods meet during the time range (based on period schedule). If you use Parent Connect to report your child's absence you do not need to call the attendance line.
