Pizza with the Principal

I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet so many parents and family members over these last few weeks! Your children are smart, kind, amazing humans, and I am so grateful to be working with them. Throughout this school year, I would love to be able to spend some time getting to know our parents and guardians a little bit better. I want to know what is most important to you when it comes to your child's education, and I'm eager to know how you think I can best support your child here at Lakeshore. I will be inviting you all to join me throughout the year for some opportunities for me to listen to your thoughts and get to know you better. The first date is scheduled for November 8th from 3:30-4:30 p.m. here at Lakeshore. We'll enjoy some pizza and good conversation together. More information to come soon... I hope to see you there!

Attendance Matters-Make Every Day Count

The Greece Central School District has made improving student attendance a priority for the 2023-24 school year. Since the pandemic, students are missing more school days, which means they are also missing out on more instructional time and opportunities to make meaningful personal connections. Each month, we will be sharing this Make Every Day Count newsletter with you. It includes information about why regular school attendance is important, as well as tips for promoting positive attendance habits at home. Our staff are here to help families overcome any obstacles to regular school attendance. Please reach out to your child's teacher, counselor, or social worker if you need help and we will develop a plan together. Our school community is always better when we are all together!

PTA's Fall Fundraiser is Underway!

Attention Lakeshore Families! Our annual PTA Fall Fundraiser with Cherrydale runs through 10/4. Please consider purchasing some items from the WIDE variety available - as they would make perfect holiday gifts (delivery would be by Mid November for those items shipped to Lakeshore). This is our primary PTA fundraiser for the year - the earnings from Cherrydale go to support funding for our PTA events (like our upcoming movie night, and our "Spring Fling" Dance!), as well as grants for grade level needs (like end of year celebrations & field trips), other special events, and MUCH more! We truly appreciate your support!

Arrival and Dismissal Updates

Thank you so much for your flexibility and cooperation with regards to our arrival and dismissal routines at Lakeshore this fall. Our morning car rider arrival process has been going very smoothly so far! Our dismissal process is going well too- it's gotten a little bit smoother each afternoon! If you pick your child up at dismissal time, here are a few reminders that will help contribute to a safe and quick process at the end of the day:

1) To avoid your child being put on the bus, any changes to your child's mode of transportation MUST be made in PikMyKid by 2pm. If you miss this deadline, we will be able to assist you in the Main Office up until 2:30 pm. Please note that no changes will be made to your child's mode of transportation after 2:30 p.m.

2) When you're in the Car Rider Line at dismissal, please have the 'announce' screen ready on your phone in the PikMyKid app to keep our process running smoothly. If you are not users of the PikMyKid app, we encourage you to start for a smoother dismissal process for you and your child!

3) To avoid safety and traffic issues on Latta Road, please make sure that you pull your car up as close as possible to the car in front of you in line.

4) We begin dismissing our car riders at 2:57 pm, so please ensure that you are in the car rider line at that time so that we can check you in and release your child to you more quickly.

Thank you so much for adhering to these routines and procedures so that your child can have a safe pick up at Lakeshore this year!
