A Note from the Principal - Is it really November next week?
Thank you for joining our teachers for conferences over the past two weeks. If you were unable to attend, please reach out to your child’s teacher and they will work with you to schedule a time to meet with you.
Next week’s schedule is a little different. Please see above for the changes in the week’s normal schedule.
What happens if my child needs to quarantine for an extended period of time? We understand that this may occur at some point this school year. Your child will still have access to the activities posted on Seesaw on their typical at home learning day. We understand that some of the activities may be difficult to complete (please know it is OK to skip activities that they don’t understand) there will be lots of activities that they will be able to continue to do independently. On their typical in-person day your child’s teacher will have a schedule of activities for them to do to keep up with their math, reading and writing school work. While it may not look exactly like what they are doing in the classroom, we are very lucky to have online resources that have activities that are linked to state standards AND our curriculum. Please understand that teachers cannot completely recreate what is happening in the classroom but will ensure that the activities that will be provided on their typical in person days will help your child keep up with school work. When they are able to return to school, the teacher will work with them on their in-person days to “catch up” as needed. Thank you for your understanding as we work together during this unpredictable time!

Snacks - All grades at Valley Crossing offer a minimum of one snack break a day. You are encouraged to send your child(ren) to school with a snack that is nutritious, individually wrapped, and peanut-free. Our brains work better when well-nourished. We also welcome snack donations for students that are not able to bring a snack on a daily basis. If you are able to donate, we welcome individually wrapped peanut-free snacks. You can drop donations off in the main office.

Our Fall Fundraiser is well underway! It may look different this year, we are doing our best to still bring some fun and teamwork to Valley Crossing! Neighborhoods are having fun moving these few weeks in their physical education classes by participating in this fitness event!
The Fall Fundraiser is typically our highest earning fundraiser for the school year. PTA fundraising helps us provide awesome programming and activities for students at VCES. Last year we funded new playground equipment, IXL, individual classroom and neighborhood grants, meals for our amazing teachers and more!
Please consider donating to ensure these remain viable opportunities for our students and staff! Current donation amounts are less than half our goal.
