Elvis Presley was the biggest in the business when it came to music. He was a musical sensation everyone has enjoyed. With well over 200 songs Elvis shaped our country. His movies collected millions of dollars. Elvis is a legend!
Fame
On March 20, 1953 Elvis first preformed. It turned out he was a huge hit! Everyone loved him. Radio stations were playing his songs over and over again for hours at a time. And, just like that Elvis became famous!
Sun records
Elvis had the voice and attitude of a rock star, but he needed more than that. RCA, Victor of Sun Records was Elvis's producer. Sun records weren't the best or the most popular producing studio. But they knew what they were doing. And soon enough they had put Elvis on top.
Legend lives on
Elvis was born in January 8 1935. He passed on August 16 1977, in the middle of a performance, an age of a mere 42 years old. He had died of drug over dosage which caused him cardiac arrhythmia. All he has left us with is his amazing legend and one lost performance some people are still dying to see.
Similarities of Rock n' Roll from the 1940s/1950s and Rock Music Today
There are many similarities between today's popular music and the 1940s/1950s. One of which is what people sing about. Lots of rock bands today sing about love, like Aerosmith, and Fall Out Boy. So did Elvis, the Beach Boys, The Bee Gees, Cameo. That is how music now, and music in the 1940s and 1950s are the same!
Differences of Rock n' Roll from the 1940s/1950s and Rock Music Today
There are also many differences between music in the 1940s and 1950s. For example; in the 1940s and 1950s their were a lot bands using classic instruments like the guitar, saxophone, other instruments like that. Now there is more bands using computer soundtracks, and non-instrumental sounds. That's one way music has changed.
