Your creativity is being shut down.
If our whole lives parents and adults all around us tell us to just be ourselves. Then you go to a school that requires that you only dress in khakis, navy blue, or beige? what do you do now? for most kids that"s how they express their personalities. when you go to school the first thing your parents tells you is to be yourself. But how can we do that if we have to wear stuff that makes us not want to be our selves.
What do dress codes prevent?
Dress codes prevent kids from dressing inapropriately. If your school doesn't have a Unifrom chances are it has a dress code. Dress codes set guidelines for kids so that they don't show off to much, wear tight clothing or clothing that is just too short. However many students often don't follow this rules, which is why there are consequences. Debate.org has a poll for dress codes and 78% of the people that voted say that schools shouldn't have dress codes at all 22% say yes.

School uniforms are expensive.

CLOSING.
So this is just my opinion, you may disagree and you may agree. But my opinion is just that when there is a uniform that kids cannot express them selves through clothing. It deflates their confidence when they have to make a school uniform look good.
