January 2018

Happy New Year!

Can you believe it is 2018! 2017 was a crazy one-the solar eclipse, Hurricane Harvey, Astros win the world series and snow! I was hoping that 2018 would be a quiet one but we have definitely gotten off to an icy start. I think we have had enough winter to last us for a while! We have not heard if we will have to make up these two days yet. I will let you know as soon as I hear anything.

We have several fun events this month and are gearing up for a busy spring semester. Please check out the important dates below and pay close attention to the emails and peek of the weeks from your child's teacher. Also, please make sure your child's jackets or sweatshirts are labeled so that we can make sure they don't get lost!

2nd grade parents-we have changed the date of our 2nd grade music program due to missing these two days of school. We are changing it from Jan. 25th to Feb. 1st. Thank you for understanding!

New Staff

We are excited to share some staff changes with you. Due to our high numbers in 5th grade, we were able to add a new 5th grade section. Our new teacher is Mr. Haji. He is a former Pasadena ISD intermediate school teacher and is the current director of The Tutoring Center in Friendswood. We are excited to have him on our team.

Mrs. Swick(Ms. Robertson) left us in December to move to Illinois because of her husband's job transfer. Mrs. Compa, who has been a long term sub for us for the past 4 years, has joined our fourth grade team. She knows and loves North Pointe and will be a great addition to the team.

We are so glad to welcome Mrs. Fore back after taking last semester off to go through chemotherapy for breast cancer. She is doing well and is happy to be back. Mrs. Delacruz did a great job with Mrs. Fore's class in the fall and is back in her resource/inclusion position.

Character Word of the Month-Trustworthiness

The next time you are in the building check out our new mural in the main hallway! It is a beauty! Ms. Mills is a rockstar art teacher!

Morning Drop off

Please be reminded that the back parking lot is not to be used as a drop off or for parking in the morning. We have a few students who have special permission to use the parking lot. Our cross walk duty person will be stopping you from entering the parking lot. Thank you for your help with this matter.
