Happy New Year Hawks
We hope that everyone had a safe, healthy and happy winter break and we were so excited to welcome students back in the building and return to learning. Thank you families for your understanding last week with the weather and E-Learning days. It was difficult to return to school for one day, have two days home and then return for one more day, so we thank you for your patience. E-Learning days that are not scheduled and that are decided because of inclement weather will always be determined no later than 5am the day of. Please make sure that your email and cellphone numbers are updated with us so that you or your student is always receiving our school notifications as well as the district's messages. Attendance and Tardiness
As we begin the second half of the school year, please continue to encourage your child(ren) to be on time to school and in class to avoid further attendance actions. We welcome your continued support and encouragement around this matter.
Student Support Services
Bilingual Seals Assessment
Do you speak and write in more than one language? It is time for you to be recognized! Students may earn a Minnesota Bilingual Seal or Certificate and earn up to 20 FREE semester college credits per language with a qualifying score!
What: The Bilingual Seals assessment is a language proficiency test. The test includes listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Assessments are available in the following languages:
ASL • Amharic • Arabic • Bulgarian • Czech • Dakota • French • German Hebrew • Hindi • Hmong • Hungarian • Italian • Japanese • Karen • Korean Lakota • Latin • Mandarin • Oromo • Ojibwe • Portuguese • Russian•Somali • Spanish • Tamil • Thai • Vietnamese

Driver's Education
The in-person class at Humboldt is not available for registration yet but will be after school 3:15-6:15 the last weeks in March.
Family and Community Resources
PTO, Monday January 9th 6-7pm
Please join us tomorrow for our next Parent Teacher Organization meeting. All parents and family members are welcome, does not matter what grade your student is. We have many opportunities to volunteer and help at school or school events. Attending meetings also gives you as parents(family members) the opportunity to voice your opinions and concerns and be involved in changes at our school.
Tomorrow we will go over the SCIP or our School Continuous Improvement Plan and we'll ask for feedback from you, the families and inform you of the plan that the school currently has in place. Please join us and have your voice/input be heard.

Here's What's Happening at Humboldt
SNODAZE 2023
Student Council will host SNODAZE February 6-10 this year.
As in previous years we will have a different theme for daily dress-up. The week will end with our SNODAZE DANCE. The dance will be held Friday, February 10 from 7:30-10pm in the middle school gym. The dance will be for students in grades 9-12 and tickets will be available for purchase. The tickets are $7 and must be purchased prior to the dance, no ticket sales will be available at the door. Students that show up to the dance without a ticket (pre-purchased) will be turned away. Ticket sales will begin January 30-February 10. The last day of ticket sales will be the day of the event during school lunches.
Middle School students will also have a celebration during the school day. More details to follow.
