School Motto "Setting the Standard for EXCELLENCE"
Kudos!
Athlete Avenue from AD Murphy ( last week ): Sports, sports and more sports!
Where to start? Hopefully everyone had a restfull break because I know our student athletes did not. While we were hitting the ski slopes, sleeping in or walking on the beach ( I love San Diego) our Winter athletes were hard at work representing Bonita Vista High School. Our girls' water polo team racked up a 5-0 record over the break running their overall record to 7-2! Awesome job, ladies!
Our Lady Baron soccer team has a respectful 5-4-1 record while the JV squad has jumped over to a 3-1 overall record. Our mens' soccer team had an astonishing 5-0-1 record over break including bringing home the Grossmont Tournament championship trophy. They are currently ranked #1 in the county in their division! Congratulations, boys! Our JV mens' squad continues to impress as well. They went 4-0 over the break to run their overall record to 8-2-1.
The mens' basketball team collected another 5 wins over the break and are currently ranked #2 in the county in their division. Not to be outdone, our lady hoops team went 6-1 over the break and currently have an 11-2 record. If you misssed the newspaper article on our own girls' basketball star Carol Schroeder, go to the U-T website or find the article next to the sign in sheet in the main office.
Our athletes are representing our school well. The league season is now open and I am certain our student athletes would love for you to come out and support them. It's great to be a Baron!
Athlete Avenue...this week from AD Murphy:
I have a dream that someday we will have a turf football field with lights where kids can plan and practice on a first rate field. A place where we can have track meets and host tournaments. For now, our athletes will continue to excel no matter the cirucmstances and excel they will!
Our girls' BB team continues to shine going 3-0 this week, inlcuding two wins by more than 40 points. Our boys' BB team notched another win over our rival down the road; nope not THAT rival. Our boys took down HTH and begin their league season on Wednesday with the big game on Friday night against those other kids from ELH, Friday night @ 7:00 PM. Make your plans now to come cheer on our boys and help them take down the real rival down the road.
On top of all of this, our girls' water polo team started their legue season with two big wins. They are now 2-0 in league and an incredible 9-2 for the season. Please come out and support our kids. They would love to see you and YOU can appreciate their hard work and dedication outside of the classroom.
I don't say it enough; it is great to be a Baron athlete and work at the best school in the district.
