Nuclear Fusion Press Release
Module Sixteen Honors - May 4th 2016
Introduction
I am Grace Bassett and I am part of the Northeast Academy Lab of Important Stuff. I have just recently discovered a new way to use nuclear fusion in a safe fashion.
How it works
Nuclear fusion generates power by combining atoms with small nuclei. I have created a creative way to harness the energy that is produced from this process. My inspiration came from the sun. The sun uses nuclear fusion to produce light and heat. The Earth needs the sun to support life. The sun is made of Hydrogen and Helium. I used different atoms to complete my process. Do not mix fusion and fission together. While both work with the nuclei of atoms, fission is when atoms with large nuclei are split into smaller bits. This is more commonly used for nuclear power.
Do not mix fusion and fission together. While both work with the nuclei of atoms, fission is when atoms with large nuclei are split into smaller bits. This is more commonly used for nuclear power because fusion is so difficult and dangerous. The materials used in normal nuclear fusion can become unstable.
Nuclear Fusion in the Future!
My invention is going to change the world! Nuclear fusion is the most promising form of renewable energy every being developed. Nuclear fission already powers the world. About 25% of the U.S. power is powered by nuclear fusion. Materials for this process can be found anywhere in the world so this new technology can be used world wide. This process is really powerful and will revolutionize energy sources across the world.
