PMA Friends at the Piano
SUMMER CLASSES FORMING!
Start your piano journey with us this summer!
Classtimes: We have openings for classes on Monday and Tuesday at 4:30pm. Each class is 45 minutes long. We begin the week of July 11th
Class size: We limit each class to four students so we can both manage a group dynamic AND give your child some one-on-one attention each class.
Why start in summer?: A six-week sample of this class is a great way to determine your child's interest and readiness in group music instruction. Parents - you get the benefit of learning piano alongside your child! Spending quality time together in the summer months making music helps you foster a love of music, plus a learning bond between you and your child!
Because class size is limited - you need to register TODAY! Click register to be directed to our summer registration form on our website - www.prairiemusic.org. Please check out the many group classes, workshops, camps, and additional programming we can offer your entire family!
Prairie Music & Arts - Building Dreams through the Creative Arts
How Piano Lessons Benefit Young Children
This article comes from The Creativity Institute. Please read in its entirety! Here is a sample to get you hooked...
Piano lessons help children learn how to stay focused and achieve goals. Piano lessons help children set specific goals and then work towards reaching these goals. Each new piece of music a student learns requires a specific set of skills and playing habits. To achieve these goals students must learn to stay focused and study each note, measure and phrase to understand how to play the song. In doing this students learn to think critically and creatively as they decide how to make the music come to life. Staying focused over time develops good study habits that become natural. This is important because learning to practice good habits that match their goals shows children how to make their dreams come to life!
