Fun in the Sun in 2022!

Dear Santan Families,

Congrats on making it through an unprecedented year, and making it through successfully. We thought 2020 was rough, but this year has been another challenging one for us all. We're looking forward to a new start in July for what will hopefully be a normalish year ahead.

In the meantime, for your future planning, here are some IMPORTANT dates to be aware of:

*July 6 -- Front office reopens

*July 14 -- Class placement emails will be sent out in the afternoon

*July 18 -- Meet the Teacher/Curriculum Night (5:30-7:00 p.m.)

*July 20 -- First Day of School

*July 28 -- The Power of Yet Parent Night (5:30-6:30 p.m.)

CORRECTION!! *August 24-25 -- Parent/Teacher Conferences (Early release at 11:35 both days)

*September 5 -- Labor Day Holiday No School

*October 3-17 -- Intersession

*November 11 -- Veteran's Day Holiday No School

*November 23-25 -- Thanksgiving Holidays

*December 23-January 10 -- Intersession

*January 16 -- MLK Day Holiday No School

*February 15-16 -- Parent/Teacher Conferences (Early release at 11:35 both days)

*February 20 -- Presidents' Day Holiday No School

*March 13-27 -- Intersession

*April 7 -- Spring Holiday No School

*May 25 -- Last Day of School

As our planning continues over the summer, we'll share any updated information for next year following our return. In the meantime, we wish you all a wonderful, relaxing, HEALTHY summer. We'll be looking forward to seeing everyone in July!

Make a summer safety plan!

  1. Identify safe people – family members, friends, or neighbors to call on for help, especially in the case of needing immediate help.
  2. Identify safe locations – places where your child feels safe where they can go if they need help – place in neighborhood/friend, etc.
  3. Highlight your child’s coping skills by reviewing potential scenarios with them where they can use their coping skills should situations arise.
  4. Draft a summer routine – identify self-care routines like getting dressed, eating breakfast, and going to bed at an appropriate time. Create a bank of safe activities your child can enjoy during the summer.
