BOARD OF EDUCATION SPECIAL RECOGNITION
- Mrs. Jessie Karl built a team to organize a community event for MVR-III students in need of school supplies, clothing, hair cuts, and health screenings. Mrs. Ketina Armstrong, Director of Communications, MVR-III Presenter.
- Jenna Anding and Emma Parry- Mr. Kyle Walz, Odyssey Coordinator, MVR-III Presenter. The PHS junior gifted students were nominated to attend the Missouri Scholar Academy (MSA). The academy is an annual three-week residential summer program held on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia, Missouri for 330 of Missouri's gifted high school juniors. MSA exists to enrich and expand gifted education for individual students and gifted programs.
- Riverbend Middle School students and Mrs. Emily Puls, Art Teacher presented the Board with artwork for the September Board Meeting.
Memorandums of Understanding Partnerships with MVR-III School District
- Jireh Ministries provides mobile counseling and educational outreach service to students identified as needing additional support either at home or school for their success.
- The Meramec Valley R-III School District has the opportunity to enter into a memorandum of understanding with St. Louis Community College (STLCC) for an Early College Partnership (ECP). The ECP is an early-entrance-to-college program located on the campus of STLCC-Wildwood. In addition to earning a high school diploma, upon successful completion, students are able to earn an Associate of Arts Degree. This is a unique and innovative opportunity for students to socialize and study in a learning community of peers.

September 16th was our first full Professional Development day for the year. All staff participated in Trauma Awareness Training with Dr. Jeanne Carey from the South Central RPDC.
Program Evaluations
Odyssey Gifted Program
In accordance with the Meramec Valley R-III Mission Statement, all students have the right to an education that is commensurate with their abilities. Gifted education provides a means of addressing specific behavioral characteristics in the cognitive and affective realms that present special learning needs. Odyssey promotes the continual growth of students in an environment that is respectful of individual differences.
Strengths of the district program:
● The inclusion of STEM activities throughout all grade levels.
● Promotion of STEM learning, adding devices to expand activities, such as 3-D pens, allows more varied and deep learning.
● The program had 138 student enrolled during the 2018-19 school year.
MVR-III Summer School Program
The Summer of 2019, the district offered a three part program that served students Pre-K through students entering grade 12 in a variety of offerings.
- Students in Pre-K through 9th grade were offered enrichment programs available to all MVR-III students.
- Grades 9-12 students were offered regular academic and Remediation Programs.
- Extended School Year (ESY) Services were available to qualifying students who met the regression factor determining ESY services. Eligible students receive the services that are mandated in their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
School Age Child Care Program
The mission of the School Age Child Care (SACC) Program is to provide a caring and safe before and after care school environment. Each site includes character building, arts, crafts, physical fitness, reading centers, technology activities, math and science games, and drama to meet the needs of a global learning environment. During the summer session, students participate in a variety of field trip opportunities as well. The program is available at all elementary schools and Pacific Intermediate (kdg.-6th grade).
Tuition Fees:
- $6.00 per morning session for the first child
- $8.00 per afternoon session for the first child
- $5.00 per morning session for each additional sibling
- $7.00 per afternoon session for each additional sibling
