Isaac Monfort Elementary School V1#30

From the Principal's Desk

Hello Monfort families,

It's hard to believe this past week was the last full week of school! As the school year comes to a close, there are still many things to do! This newsletter includes a lot of information, please read it in it's entirety.

It is so nice to be getting back to having events that we have had to take a break from for a while. It's exciting to think about all the fun things we will do as a school in the future!

This week is our Talent Show! There will be a school show for students and an evening show. Please see the picture below.

We will also be having Field Day again! Below is a blurb about how parents can help out on Field Day. Building our community and having parents volunteer at school events make our school better! If you have the time or can arrange your schedule to help out on that day, please sign up below!

Teachers are sending out information about their classroom picnics. Because parents at the picnic may be interacting with students and working "stations", a volunteer form is required. One benefit is that you only have to fill out the volunteer form one time and can volunteer many times after, once the form is processed.

A quick note about Sunscreen. With students being outside more, please be sure to apply sunscreen to your child before school, as teachers will not be able to apply sunscreen to students at school.

Student Assessments

The NWEA closes on May 26th, the NWEA is given to students in grades K-6.

Go Knights!

End of Year Ipad and Computer Turn - In

Computers and iPads: Students in grades 1st and 6th will be turning in their technology at the end of the school year. Each student must turn in their iPad and charger (1st grade) and Laptop and charger (6th grade). Teachers and the office will be taking inventory on the devices.

Device turn-in for 1st grade is scheduled for: Monday, June 6, 2022

Device turn in for 6th grade is scheduled for: Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

Laptop Chargers: Students are responsible for the charger along with their laptop. This applies to iPads, as well. The replacement cost for a laptop charger is $39 for each charger. If a charger is lost, a replacement will be issued to the student and a charge for $39 will be entered in Power School. Checks can be made out to Monfort Elementary to cover the lost charger.

Summer School Students – Devices collected at the end of the year will be reconfigured and deployed to summer school students needing devices.

Breakfast and Lunch Changes for 2022/2023 School Year

Breakfast & Lunch for Fall 2022: The federal government will no longer be providing free breakfast and lunch to all students. Starting in the fall of 2022, students will need to purchase a breakfast or lunch (costs to come soon). Families in need can complete a Free/Reduced Lunch application for fall 2022 AFTER July 1, 2022. More information located under the UCS menu below. (Go to the messages section, upper right hand corner)

Monfort Parking Lot Procedures

Safety is number one!

Proper flow in the parking lot helps with the safety and efficiency of drop off and pick up. Please review the map and follow the guidlines below for student drop off and pick up proecdures.

  • The parking lot has a ONE WAY traffic flow.
  • If you plan on parking and walking your child to their classroom door, you must park in a marked parking spot in the lot. There is no parking in the Bus or Student Drop Off lanes.
  • No vehicles are allowed to drive or park in the back of the building for drop off or pick up.
  • When dropping off in the drop off lane, please pull forward in the drop off lane as much as possible.
  • When dropping off in the drop off lane, be sure all students exit vehicles out of the passenger side.
  • Right turn only when exiting the parking lot from 8:45-9:15am.
  • Patience is preferred.

MEDICATION AT SCHOOL

Any child who needs to have medication administered at school will need to have completed medial forms on file for each medication. This includes over-the-counter medications, such as Tylenol/Advil, cough drops, allergy medication, and others.

Children may not bring any medication to school, including allergy medication, without signed medical forms on file. Please do not send medication to school in your child's backpack, such as inhalers, EpiPen, or over-the-counter medications as they will be asked to keep the medication in the office for parents to pick up. If your child needs to have medication in their backpack per Doctor recommendation, UCS requires the completed medical form to be on file with the office.

Monfort classrooms are peanut and treenut free.....

Since our classrooms are peanut and treenut free, I thought I'd include this resource for peanut and treenut free snacks that are eaten in the classroom.

Thank you for helping keep our classrooms safe for all!!
