It's Calibration Time Again!

We are collecting assignments from ELA and Social Studies. These activities can be things that are going to happen this week or next week. This also means we'll be collecting data from our walks. Last calibration data looked very good, with a large gap in technology usage, so we definitely hope to see that going up.

Also, Dr. V will be sitting in on this round of calibrations. He will use two things to base how our improvement movement is going: some prior knowledge and current data. The prior knowledge will come from last year's STAAR scores and this year's CBA data. That is why it is imperative you check DMAC to ensure your data is correct. The new data will come from his walks. He will walk classes and ask kids to explain what is in their data folder. Julie and I will be asking kids to show us their folders this week for practice. We just want them to know why the charts are colored in, what their goal is, and how they plan to get there.

As we get deeper into the school year we get more calls about students' grades. We do not want to surprise parents when progress reports go home; this is why the district put the current policy in our handbook.

The guidelines are as follows for each content area:

  • ELA/Math- 2 grades per week, 12 per 6 weeks
  • Sci/ Soc Stu- 1 grade per week, 6 per 6 weeks
  • Enrichment Grades – Enrichment teachers will give two grades: one for curriculum/skill and the other for conduct/behavior utilizing the ESNU grading scale.

November 20th is PLC Day!

2nd- 4th Grade teachers be on the lookout for Julie's email. Be sure to pull your data and answer those questions prior to our meeting. You will leave your responses with me on Friday.

  • 8:15-9:15: 3rd grade
  • 9:35- 10:35: 1st grade
  • 10:40- 12:00: 4th grade
  • 12:45- 1:45: 2nd Grade
  • 2:00- 3:00: Kinder

* CAMP will have PLC on Nov. 19th at 8:10.
