RMS Weekly Event Calendar
November 6 - November 10
What's going on at RMS?
I read that the month of November is considered "National Gratitude Month". We talk a lot about gratitude, but do we ever stop to think about what it really means? Gratitude involves much more than simply saying "thank you." Gratitude is a feeling that comes from the heart and is demonstrated in our actions and attitudes. Gratitude has the power to change our focus from the negative to an appreciation for all the positive things we have been blessed with in our life. When we practice a daily attitude of gratitude, we have a deeper connection to ourselves and to those around us.
All aspects of our lives can improve if we are grateful. There is actual research that indicates that gratitude can enhance our moods, decrease our stress level which, in turn, can improve our over health and wellbeing. People who are grateful tend to have less stress related illnesses, are less depressed, and have lower blood pressure. Grateful individuals tend to be more physically fit, are happier, and have more satisfying personal and professional relationships.
If everyone practiced gratitude on a daily basis, the world would change for the better. If we focused on the positive aspects of our lives, think about the impact it could have on our daily attitudes!
I hope all of you will take time to reflect on the impact of gratitude and how you can improve the lives of those around you. I encourage you to take time to simply thank someone. Do a random act of kindness or offer up a smile to someone who is having a bad day. Tell someone that you appreciate them. Provide encouragement to someone in need. When we demonstrate gratitude, we are much happier and it is reflected in our actions each day!
Thank you for all you do each day at RMS. I am very thankful for all of you!
Wow! Take a look at our Pineapple Chart! Last week it was filled with teachers who were doing outstanding learning activities in their classrooms and invited other teachers into their classrooms to observe and learn. I am so excited about the great learning activities that are taking place in our classrooms as well has how our students are engaged in their learning. I encourage all of you to put your name on the Pineapple Chart and also visit classrooms! You will be amazed at how much you will learn!
From the pictures below, you can see that Mrs. Agee visited Mrs. Townley's classroom as they worked on presenting workplace safety skits to the class. The students loved having her in the classroom watching what they were doing! Ms. Ridge is also doing fabulous things with Google Classroom by creating assessments that are embedded with awesome graphics! I look forward to what is coming this week! Keep up the great work!
