Time! (Want a cute timer?)

I saw an article this week on Twitter that I thought you'd enjoy... cute timers! These set of links come from a great blog, EdTech4Beginners. Neil Jarrett, the blogger, provides helpful tips and tools weekly.. check him out!

Some of these timers are iPad apps, so look for the web-based ones.. my favorite is the first, Timerland. Bunnies!

Click here for a list of cute timers!

Thanks to @EdTechNeil for the great article!

Money! $$$$$$$$

If you're teaching coins/denominations and are frustrated with older versions of coins, check out the U.S. Mint's student website, h.i.p. pocket change! This website has resources about coins new and old, collecting coins, and how coins are made. They also have a great teacher resource page with lessons, printables, etc. Check it out! Do be warned: some of the games on the website are Flash, so they won't work on iPads. Many features (the facts, etc.) are viewable on iPads with no problems.. just check it out first!

Hey, don't forget: with vacation coming, POWER DOWN YOUR DEVICES. Don't just shut the lid, actually turn them off. This is particularly important for your classroom iMac, your SMARTboard, and your classroom iPads. While devices "sleep", that's not the same as a full shut down and restart. Give them a vacation as well!
