Hound Dog Huddle
January 19, 2024
Principal's Message:
Happy Friday Hilton Families!
It has been a whirlwind week, with no school Monday or Wednesday. I hope next week allows us all to feel like we’re getting back in the groove a bit more.
Huddles:
We have our January Huddle on this upcoming Tuesday, January 23rd. We will be learning about the DOGS theme of Optimism. Please have your child wear their grade level shirt on Tuesday, and please avoid all early pick-ups, as students will be in various classrooms around the school until 3:50pm.
Yearbooks:
If you have not yet ordered a yearbook, a pink flier from Jostens will be coming home today with your child. Please check their backpack and Friday folder. If you do not receive one of these fliers, you have already ordered a yearbook for your child.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to a full, more normal week of school next week. Thank you all for your continued support and partnership, and Go Dogs!
Warmly,
Erin Belanger
Principal

We are in need of substitute teachers! You have to apply through Edustaff and can use the link below to access their website. Not only does a substitute teacher make $120/day, but they also make a difference in shaping young minds. If you are interested, apply through Edustaff and contact the office when your application is complete.
LESA Monthly Mental Health Series
LESA (Livingston Educational Service Agency) has put together a monthly series of Mental Health and Wellness topics that will be part of a mental health series in our county. The mental health series is a series of topical webinars relevant to parents and families of the Brighton School District. Some of the topics include "Your Child's Anxiety", "School Avoidance", and "Building Your Child's Confidence.". One thing to know about the webinars is that families can join and participate but be completely anonymous. Please see the flier above for more information.
The McKinney Vento Act
The Brighton Area Schools is part of a consortium to serve students in temporary living situations that
provides financial support for educational needs, referral for housing, clothing and other needs, general
support and technical assistance. To ensure compliance with federal law, all school staff must help
identify student living in the following situations: emergency shelters/transitional housing,
motels/hotels, car, parks or public spaces, shared housing due to a loss of housing or economic
hardship, or living temporarily with non-parent or guardian.
The district’s homeless liaison is Starr Acromite and each building has trained staff members to assist in the endeavor. Our consortium contact at the Livingston Educational Service Agency is Candice Olrich. Please contact your building principal or Starr Acromite at 810-299-4040 for information/assistance.
