M- I plan on taking science throughout the rest of high school because the university I would like to go to in the future will not accept me with any percentage below said mark. I will ask teachers constantly for feed back, use excel spread sheets to track my monthly average and as well as ask for mark updates.I will constantly ask for mark updates every time I do a project, test or assignment. I will use an excel tracker to track my progress as well as
A- I will pay extra attention in class, I will spend extra time after doing homework studying, Ask my teachers of feedback, extra help and take all extra steps necessary to raise my grade.
R- The university I would like to go to in the future will not accept me with any percentage below said mark and I need to get into the university I am aiming towards because that is how I will become a marine biologist. This is a goal I have been set on ever since I was in grade 5 when a marine biologist spokesperson came to our school to talk about what is to be a marine biologist. I will accomplish this if I follow the action that I have set for myself with in the time period I have given myself.
T- The time period I have given myself to achieve the 85% in science is from grade 10 to grade 12 every year i will improve my mark, but my long term goal for university and becoming a marine biologist is from my 1 year of university and the following ten years will be divided up into 3 section 4 years university,2 years apprenticeship and 3 years to find a sound and stable job in the field and within that 3 years if I chose I will start out on my own with my own team.
SMART Goals - Volunteering
S- I want to complete at least 200 hours of community service by then end of grade 12
M- I plan on doing so by track the amount of hours I have completed using the tracker sheet provided by the guidance office as well as use an agenda or spreadsheet on excel.
A-Every week I will set aside one afternoon after school where I can go do some volunteering work.
R- In high school you need 40 hours of community service to graduate but I would also like to get the award for most community service award at the end of grade 12 which means I have to work towards getting the most community volunteering hours.
T- Ever month I will complete at least 12 hours of volunteering services up until grade 12 before graduation which means 3 hours every week.
My objective is to be the best at what I do and to offer my abilities, skills and attributes towards the task or job at hand.

A marine biologist can work up to 10 to 8 hours per day 40 to 50 hours a week according to career cruising.com.Those who work as teachers or professors work up to as much as 60 hours per week sometimes even more grading papers and so forth.A marine biologist might spend majority of their career on the water in deep sea expeditions and maybe for some they will be working long hours in lab which means that there will be little to no room for a family, personal life, leisure and down time as well as suffer from sleep deprivation. These challenges can be overcome by using time management methods. For example, prioritize daily tasks, create a team so the tasks can be divided and the work finished faster. If you are a professor of marine biology a teaching assistant (TA) can help you for example grade papers. By overcoming these challenges, one creates room in a busy schedule for family time and downtime. To prevent sleep deprivation, one can cut down on caffeine, set aside a certain time in the day to take a 30 minute break and take a lunch hour so that one does not burn out Also try to get a minimum of 7-8 hours of sleep each night.
Marine Biologists have to move all around the world in order to do their jobs especially during the winter time, they would normally move to hotter countries or states to conduct their expeditions and so forth. The challenge with this they face is constantly moving and some even move with their families. Cost of living in different states and countries cost a lot as well as housing. Marine biologists has the benefit of having high salaries so they can somewhat afford to but that is based on experience and if you just became a marine biologist then it will be hard to afford to conduct expeditions on your own so you might have to take grants and so forth.Marine biologist also spends majority of their career on boats in the ocean which can cause seasickness or motion sickness, this can be prevented by taking doctor prescribed medication or over the counter motion sickness drugs.
