Parent Place November Edition
A Newsletter for parents @ Columbus First Assembly
Happy Thanksgiving.
I pray all of you will have a blessed Thanksgiving season. It's hard to believe that we are close to the end of another year. I want to tell you that I am so thankful for our team of people who make our children's ministry possible. I am also thankful for your children. They all give Mary and I such joy.
In the Dock, we now have a wall that we will let your children color. They love doing this. Now Mary and I have been very clear that they are not to do this at home.
On November 24th Mary and I will not be at church. Thanks to Lindsey and Robert Jordan you will not even miss us. We will be in Hocking Hill Ohio celebrating our 41st anniversary.
Happy Thanksgiving. He has given us so much to be thankful for!

Come on out Wednesday nights!
See you all there!
Pre School Corner
In November the children will cover the disciples being afraid during a storm and how Jesus walked on the water to help them. Then the same disciples will help a man who is lame and has been sitting outside the temple gates. Week 3 the children will earn how the disciples made a decision to follow Jesus and how they can make the same decision.
Then we will close out the month about Praising God for your family. Helping the children to focus on something they can be thankful for.
It sounds like a month of great lessons.

The Kids Dock!
This month the children will continue to learn that the Holy Spirit will help them pray and will also guide them. We are not adding any new questions this month as we feel it is important to focus on the guiding and prayer aspect of the Holy Spirit.
Quote the verse that says the Holy Spirit will guide us.
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. John 16:13
Name two people who were guided by the Holy Spirit? Paul and Phillip.
How were Paul and Phillip guided by the Spirit? The Spirit told Paul not to go to a certain country and He told Phillip to go talk with the Ethiopian Treasurer.
Romans 8:26 tells us what about the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit helps us pray.
Why does the Holy Spirit need to help us pray? According to Romans 8:26, we don’t know how to pray as we should.
What part does the Holy Spirit have in our salvation? The Holy Spirit convicts of sin and makes the repentant sinner a new person.
How important is the Holy Spirit in our Salvation? We would not know that we needed a Savior without Him.
What does convict of sin mean? The Holy Spirit makes us aware that we break God’s law.
The Holy Spirit convicts of sin and also righteousness. How does he convict of righteousness? The Holy Spirit shows us we can’t fix our sin.
Who is our Savior? Jesus
