Monthly Message
Dear parents/guardians,
Happy February! It was a very busy January, and the excitement will continue as we have many events planned this month, including Read Across America Week, the Literati Book Fair, and the Storyteller Assembly. A few fun events that were recently celebrated are the 100th day of the school & the 101st day of school, and our building wide incentive -coloring with the principals. Students really enjoyed showing their enthusiasm for being 100 & 101 days smarter!
Please be sure to mark the important dates listed below on your calendar. Family Night is next Thursday, February 29th and Parent Teacher Conferences are March 14th. There is also no school for students on Friday, March 8th.
As always, we encourage communication between you and your child's teacher or administration with any questions or concerns you may have. Be sure to download the HLSD Mobile app for quick access to updates regarding school events and more. Feel free to stop by or contact us at 491-8044 if there is anything you need.
Sincerely,
Mr. Rush & Mrs. Seiler

In Mrs. Allinder's ELA class, students are excited to boost their reading skills through engagement in an online program, Lexia. Lexia meets students at their level and provides reading skills practice that is rooted in the Science of Reading. Students earn Dojo points when they reach their individual weekly goal and/ or earn a Lexia Superstar certificate when they complete a level. Students sure are becoming 'Reading Superstars!'
Happy Valentine's Day
Students and Staff had a great time celebrating Valentines Day. We saw such creative boxes and students arrived and left with such smiles on their faces!

Mission Statement
Every Ranger, Every Reason, Every Day!
EVERY RANGER. This phrase is meant to include everyone—every student, every staff member, every graduate and every community member. All of us working together.
EVERY REASON. The primary focus of every school system is the academic achievement of all students. Our staff and, by extension, our community take on the challenge of doing even more for our students. We educate the whole child. Whatever the need, whatever the issue, whatever the REASON we are going to work together and do the best we can for each other.
EVERY DAY. Thank you to our HLSD community for making our students a priority every day, and for always pitching in to help one another
