Message from the Principal
Hello parents,
This week a number of kids were honored as the Students of the Month for February. These youngsters have displayed notable scholarship in their courses, admirable character in their interactions with others, and a high degree of conscientiousness. Traits like these have distinguished these students from their peers. Students received a certificate of accomplishment, a letter from me memoralizing their achievement and a Woodbury exclusive drawstring bag. Please join us in congratulating the following:
JHS SOTM

High performing students such as these do not just manifest into existence on their own; they are almost always the products of a loving, supportive home with high expectations. Kudos to their parents and close family who helped create a nurturing place at home for them to flourish!
Keep Love Present,
Dr. Vivadelli

We Tip Assembly
This week representatives from WE-TIP came into the building to provide student leaders some training on the anonymous reporting system. The system is designed to provide a fast and safe way to report incidents of bullying, vandalism or other misdeeds. To help get the word out, these student leaders were provided a shared experience replicating what it means to live in a community together; the attached picture is a scene from the event. Other literature and posters to promote the anonymous reporting system will be added to each of our buildings throughout the district.
Comedy Event at the Public Library
Attached is a flier for “Someone Must Wash the Dishes: An Anti-Suffrage Satire” hosted by the Woodbury Public Library and the Woodbury Human Rights Commission on March 11 @ 6:30 PM.
“Someone Must Wash the Dishes” was originally written by Marie Jenney Howe in 1913 under the name “Anti-Suffrage Monologue” as a form of protest and was published in 1913 by the National American Women Suffrage Association. 65 Years after the first formal demand for women’s right to vote and 7 more years before it would actually become law in the U.S.
This event is for anyone who may have an interest or passion for US History, Civil and Social Justice, Drama, Comedy and/or Literature.
August 26, 1920 will mark the 100th Anniversary of the Women’s Right to Vote, come out to celebrate with a free night of comedy!

Chemistry News
From Ms. Thomulka's class:
The Royal Society of Chemistry had a Twitter Conference , #RSCPoster, for scientists to share and report their research to an international community. Last week, my students did an Inquiry Investigation to conclude which drinks serve as good “sports” drinks based on the electrolytes (salts, ions, minerals, etc.) and energy (sucrose, caffeine, etc.) they provide after doing some research on sports nutrition. Here is a poster made from one of their lab reports.

Project Graduation
Project Graduation is a safe and free night of fun for our graduates. It has been a part of Woodbury High School for many years. For the last six years Project Graduation has been held at Rastelli’s Sports & More in Deptford, NJ.
The night of graduation, our graduates return to the high school approximately 9pm. The students and parent volunteer chaperones are bused to the venue. For the next 3-4 hours the graduates enjoy many activities such as a photo booth, basketball, swimming, Gaga Ball, volley ball, Tether ball and a live DJ. Food is provided for all graduates at the venue. In years past, we raised enough funds to give participating graduates a small gift of a Wawa gift card and a Project Graduation t-shirt. At approximately 1:30 am. the students and volunteers are bussed back to the high school.
All costs, including transportation to and from the venue, are covered through fundraising efforts and donations.
The 2018-2019 Project Graduation Committee consists of only 9 parent volunteers. Fundraising has been particularly challenging this year. Our efforts have not raised as much money as we have hoped for at this point. Having so few volunteers makes it difficult to raise the needed funds.
We need your help! It doesn’t matter if your child is in elementary school, 6th, 7th, 8th grade or in the high school. Please join us at our next meeting. If we don’t get more volunteers, we fear there will be no Project Graduation for our graduates this year.

Project Graduation Committee
