Marine City Middle School
6th Grade Orientation
On Wednesday, May 1st, Marine City Middle School welcomed the future 6th grade class into the building for a day of orientation and learning. After a friendly march in to the school, with the fight song playing loud and proud, the bands and the 6th grade choir students treated our future Mariners to a couple of songs. After that fun open the 5th grade students took tours of the building, ate lunch in the big cafeteria, played mentor games, visited the media center, and practiced the all important lockers. It was a lot of fun for all the inquisitive young minds that will soon be a part of our Mariner family. In the evening, it was the parent's turn to learn the middle school ropes with our parent orientation. It was wonderful to interact with and meet the future of Marine City Middle School, the students and the parents.
Science Alive visits MCMS
On Friday, May 10th, students in Mrs. Smith’s 6th grade science classes were visited by a sloth, Burmese python, chinchilla, armadillo, and an alligator, as Science Alive visited the building. This wonderful program introduces students to the wonders of the animal kingdom and provides students with the opportunity to experience life up close and personal. All of the animals are discussed, with their special adaptations highlighted, and students have the chance to not only learn about them, but to also hold them.

Little Explorers' Mother's Day Celebration
Students made a vase, flowers, and card for their mothers! Students showed their moms how to use Lummi sticks in a partner song and danced to some of their favorite songs.
