May 4-8 - National Teacher Appreciation Week!

May 1, Grammy Foundation Presents Deb Reilly with $1000 check for her schools as Finalist award, Parkland High School Auditorium, 7 PM. During the middle school orchestra concert, the President of the Philadelphia Grammy Foundation Chapter, Mark Schultz, will present Ms. Debra Reilly, with a cash award for her schools.

May 2, Community Resource Fair, Asbury United Methodist Church, 11 AM - 2 PM. A fun, family-friendly, community building event featuring the many services, programs, and volunteer opportunities available to those living in the Parkland area. This is the 3rd year that Asbury church has partnered with the Parkland School District to offer this event to the community.

May 4, 4th Annual Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor Gala and Silent Auction, Holiday Inn and Conference Center, 6 PM. For more information, click here.

May 11, Former college and NBA Star, Chris Herren, Speaks at PHS, PHS Gym.
Chris Herren will address the entire PHS student body (approximately 3,200 students) about his experiences with substance abuse and the challenges that he faced on his road to recovery. Sober since August 1, 2008, Chris has devoted himself to helping others who struggle with addiction by following one simple mantra: one person, one day at a time.

May 14-16, 12th Annual Parkland Festival of the Arts.

May 17, The 7th Annual John Steinmann/PHS Lax Booster Club Golf Outing, Berkleigh Golf Club in Kutztown, PA. There will be many great prizes and giveaways throughout the day! Come on out and support both the PHS Boys and Girls Lacrosse Teams!

It is SPRING concert season. Check out all of our events at our online calendar. All concerts are FREE and OPEN to the public.


Springhouse Middle School's Science Olympiad team competed in the State Finals of the National Science Olympiad and became State Champions. As such, they are invited to represent the State at the National Event in Lincoln, Nebraska. They medaled in 17 of the 23 events and scored five 1st place wins and seven 2nd place wins! The team is coached by Dr. Sam Ghosh who volunteers his time to advise the team.

First Graders at Jaindl Elementary School did a phenomenal job dressing up as the person they want to be when they grow up and have a career.
