#BestYearEver
Dear EJES Team,
I hope everyone has had a fabulous summer! Just a few notes to keep everyone updated as we approach the new year.
What is happening in your world? Keep the East Jordan Elementary twitter hashtags (#WeAreEj, #EJRocks, #EJProud, and #EJESTeach) strong as we begin the year. Don't forget vacation pics, PD pics, and articles/resources to share! Love staying connected.
Hope you are getting a chance to have fun and relax. Please let me know if you need anything at all!
With Red Devil Pride!

Calendar Changes
Due to two unforeseen factors while developing our master calendar....we have had to make a couple of adjustments.
The changes: The half day on September 28th will be moved to October 5th and will change from a half day for students and staff to a half day for students and half day PD for staff. Our fall conference week will change from the 9th-11th to the 16th-18th (October) with a half day for students and staff on the 19th (the Friday of the original conference week was a half day for students and half PD for staff.....we just flip flopped this with the Oct. 5th change)

District Newsletter Article from ME... For your review
Dear East Jordan Families,
Welcome EJ Red Devils to the 2018-2019 school year. I trust this update finds you gearing up for another amazing school year! While we may have a new exterior look to our main entrance on Garfield Street, a new safe and secure entrance, and beautiful new touches to our classrooms and hallways, EJES will continue to stay dedicated to providing the highest quality educational experience for everyone. We will continue to stay committed to our best selves, as adults and students. This focus and dedication will be visible in our school and in our community.
As we strive to reach these goals, we must challenge each other to be the best version of ourselves. Our best as students, staff members, family members, community members and friends. No matter what role we play in the education of our children, we must make a conscious effort to strive to be our best every day. If we embrace this responsibility, together we can and will be the best elementary school!
As the principal, one of my top goals is to improve communication in our school. If you would like, please take a moment to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter at the addresses at the bottom of this newsletter. The staff at EJES will update these accounts frequently throughout the school year with not only events, but daily happenings in our school to help give families a daily connection to school activities in our building throughout the day. Our common hashtags are #WeAreEJ, #EJRocks, and #EJProud. The website, www.ejps.org, is another great way to stay connected.
Partnering together, we can ensure the success of our children. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have at any time. I am looking forward to kicking off the #BestYearEver and am truly grateful and honored to serve both our students and families!
Sincerely,
Carla Vrondran
