WHY???

We often talk about connecting to your WHY. How many of you have actually written down your why?? What are your reasons for doing Thirty-One? There are some great ways to get your mind flowing in the right direction. Here is an exercise to start.

Exercise #1: Discover and Define Your Motivational Core

To solidify your personal values, complete the steps below:

Step #1: Choose ten values from the list below that are most important to you. Don’t over-think it. Feel free to add values that aren’t on this list.

achievement

excellence

nature

acceptance

family

partnership

adventure

freedom

playfulness

beauty

fun

prosperity

catalyst

growth

quality

challenge

harmony

respect

community

influence

risk taking

connection

impact

self-expression

creativity

joy

spirituality

contribution

knowledge

wellness

discovery

leadership

wisdom

effectiveness

learning

vitality

efficiency

love

zest

Step #2: Narrow your set of values down to five from your initial list.

Step #3: Define what these top five values mean to you. Write your personal definitions. Don’t censor yourself—journal whatever thoughts come to mind. For example, “harmony” might mean, “living in the flow of life; finding joy as I move with rhythm.” Keep in mind there is no right or wrong answer.

Step #4: Consistently refer to your values list as you go through your daily activities. Assess how well you are honoring your values by ranking them on a scale of 1-10 (1 means you aren’t considering your values in your decisions or activities, 10 means that you are including them). Notice which activities, choices and thoughts make you come alive and continue those. Identify what drains you and consider adjusting your attitude and behavior so your choices are in alignment with your values. Use these same core values in your business and your life to create wholeness and a sense of integration.

Reveal your truest self. As you assimilate your values into your daily life, you will notice a shift in how you approach every situation. You will be more radiant and alive. The “best you” shines through! This is your true self who exudes life and attracts others.
